marlam
Finally I had a short walk in the Old Town of Hamina. The Old Town is build in a circular pattern and at the center of it is the town hall: The Orthodox church:

Patrycja
Some stuff from Carrickfergus "Edward the Bruce fair" IMG_3552.JPG Wow, Sozo, is that a Peregrine falcon?! I love them!! (and owls, and wolves best of all rraawrr!) Beautiful photos. Someone brought these to my attention on Facebook, and I thought I'd share as they're exquisite, particularly the ones in black and white, but I can't get over the texture of the flour movement echoing that of the dancers. Ddladner
^^^ I had seen those as well, Patrycja, and thought they were amazing! I didn't look closely enough, though, and thought they were taken underwater! I had recently learned that underwater engagement photos is a new trend, so just assumed it was water I saw and thought it looked really cool! Patrycja
That's some crazy sh!t right there! Thanks for sharing! You're welcome, Walter, glad you like them Breathtaking, aren't they?! I can't stop staring at the first one with the light shades in the fabric folds (that and his body - aesthetically, it is a beautiful, refined instrument). The fabric reminds me of when I saw La Pieta a few years back in (I think) the AGO and it brought me to tears. And that was just a replica. ^^^ I had seen those as well, Patrycja, and thought they were amazing! I didn't look closely enough, though, and thought they were taken underwater! I had recently learned that underwater engagement photos is a new trend, so just assumed it was water I saw and thought it looked really cool! Amazing is right, Dd! Would you mind posting a couple of the underwater engagement photos you refer to when you get a chance? I'm curious about what they look like. Thanks And here we thought flour was just for baking. Fascinating how people think to put to other uses elements we associate with certain paths. I love it! Ddladner
Fascinating, indeed, Patrycja! Just when I was getting my head wrapped around underwater photography, now there is flour! This is the one that I especially thought was underwater: Here are a few examples of underwater engagement photos:

I misunderstood the 'engagement' part, thinking about subjects engaging with the water or something. THIS I did not expect. New trend? A bit cheesy idea lol, but beautiful photos in and of themselves. Thanks for sharing! Thank you Patrycja, I think it was a Peregrine Falcon, I managed to get a few more from that day. Patrycja
I came across these on the National Geographic site. I must experience both! Breathtaking. Photograph by Duncan George, Getty Images July 2015 England—The gnarled landscape of Wistman’s Wood—moss-draped boulders, ferns, grass, lichen-covered dwarf oaks—is shrouded in fog and myth. Fairies, druids, and hellhounds are said to haunt this part of Dartmoor National Park. Photograph by Vilhelm Gunnarsson July 2015 Iceland—Beneath the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier—part of Vatnajökull, one of the largest ice caps in Europe—a man in a boat is dwarfed by the walls of an ice cave. Summer melting expands the tunnel, and the river swells to fill it. http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/visions-of-earth/visions-earth-2015
