Strider
Dames. That was a fun read and thanks to the Non Sequitur comic strip, I was familiar with most of the words on the list. Except for "basement" used to refer to a restroom...that was a new one to me.

Whoopie Cat
When I was in Boston and the surrounding areas, no one could understand a word I was saying. Simply asking for a cup of coffee, received a blank, confused stare, as if I was speaking a foreign language. I realised eventually, that if I spoke louder and slower they could understand me ..... which embarrassed me, because i'm not a loud speaking person. I also didn't realise that I learnt a lot of Boston's sayings or language, because I knew 3/4 of what was on your page link Planted (forgive me i'm wrong in calling it "Boston's sayings). It was also interesting, that quite a few of your expressions and words have British origins, which is perhaps because of your area's heritage. I say the same words in some instances and my country also has British heritage. Damn those Poms
mickey g
I used to see a girl from Webster. When her brother wanted to toss a baseball around, he called it "having a pass". He also called firecrackers "flukes"
chillumpuffer
You want to try living in the UK. It's not vocabulary which is the issue. Our accents are so diverse that it is impossible to understand THE GEORDIES !!
