Patrycja
So far there are already a couple of gigs booked, and who knows how things develop, but here's to great (new?!) music being enjoyed by audiences wherever Robert plays whether solo or with the Sensational Space Shifters So there are the two dates at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow: January 31 and February 1, 2016 as part of a tribute to Bert Jansch. Proceeds go to the Bert Jansch Foundation. And in March, Robert and SSS will perform at the Okeechobee Festival in Florida (March 4, 5, 6, 2016).http://okeechobeefest.com/#aloompa-lineup Edited December 2, 2015 by Patrycja added links

kenticus
that's lovely that they're starting to book dates. For whatever reason, when their 2015 tour wrapped i had this feeling that he was going to close the book on this band and move on to something new, as tends to be his custom once a band really really gets cookin, he tends to go off and do something else. So it's refreshing and delightful that he's keeping this crew together and going back out and hopefully doing some new stuff.

Yes, and we love the Ampitheatre there - smallish, with great site lines. So pissed these two events are on the same day! I love St. Augustine too - we vacation there at least once a year at Hammock Beach, just south of the city. Love to visit St George street and the old fort, etc. Edited January 12, 2016 by Walter
kingzoso
I do believe I will attend Robert's concert in Dallas on March 15 at the Bomb Factory. The last time I saw Robert was when his SSS tour opened in Dallas at the Palladium Ballroom on June 20, 2013. Even though I love Mr. Plant, I am not too enamored with his reinterpretations of "classic" Led Zeppelin songs. I prefer the bluesy and the hard rock, not so much the folksy and bluegrass style. Nevertheless, this is Robert Plant and who knows when I will be able to see him live and in person again. Edited to add: If anyone on this forum is planning to attend this concert and may want to meet before the concert, I will be the one wearing a Led Zeppelin shirt. I should be easy to spot. anniemouse
So a new LP is in the cards. Intrigued to hear how that will sound. Skin Tyson will be touring with both bands until April and then it looks like they are recording. Talk about being busy.

Patrycja
A translated write-up of the gig at NOS Alive Festival (July 7 - 9, 2016) in Portugal: Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters 7 JUL • Stage ON Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters, mythical singer of Led Zeppelin and considered by many the greatest voice of all time, will rise to the Stage ON 07 July, to which are also already confirmed The Chemical Brothers, Pixies, The 1975 Wolf Alice and John Grant. A name that needs no introduction, Robert Plant is responsible for having influenced artists such as Freddie Mercury, Kurt Cobain, Axl Rose, Jeff Buckley and Jack White. In addition to the long career as frontman of Led Zeppelin, Plant issued 10 studio albums and worked with many legends of music, apart from former teammate Jimmy Page, and Jeff Beck, Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, Skip Spence, Phil Collins and Alison Krauss. In 2008 the American magazine Rolling Stone said Robert Plant at 15 in the list of 100 best vocalists of all time. In 2011 the readers of the same magazine named Plant as the best singer in history. In 2009 he was appointed by listeners of British radio Planet Rock as the best rock voice. Several other publications, radio and music critics around the world have given the same prominence to the artist, who is now arguably one of the most important and influential musicians of all time. The long list of awards, are the five gramophones which raised the 51st Gala Grammy in 2009 with the album "Raising Sand" made in collaboration with Alison Krauss. The double was the big winner of the night. Robert Plant, a living legend.
