Strider's name isn't a reference to Robert Plant's dog, but is to one of the late 70's when he was a regular and on the list at Steve Rubell's Studio 54 in NYC. This was when he lived in the NYC area and was known to hang out here with the Jaggers, Warhol, Cher, Farrah, Bowie and Elton among them. He was given this name by Bowie, but it's never been known why he was given this name. A mystery like JP's Zo-so symbol!
