Ole Man River's Keeps the Music Roooolllllin along! you remember that commercial al? I used to live in the apartments next door back in 77 when I worked at avondale ship yard. It was party central. Could drink all I wanted and only had to worry about getting up the stairs to my apt. Charles_Obscure
How was the Crue Really wanted to go but was unable to make it. Visually, it was great. They had girls dancing all over. Acrobats, dwarf on motorcycle. Lee doing a drum solo on a plateform high above the ground. It was my first show in a big arena so it was a great experience. But i'm not to big of a fan of their music. But hell! we had free tickets, so I would've been such a fool not to go!
Angel With A Broken Wing
I'm very impressed alwizard, you have so many great concert memories. Showing my age here, but don't you agree that it used to be much more fun collecting these ticket stubs? Each one is unique, they make for some colorful pages in scrapbooks (which I don't dare try to take mine out, they would rip to shreds ) Nowadays I just print them all out from Ticketbastard.....all the same putrid orange, the only difference is the bar code. Yeah shipyards were dangerous. I saw Zebra there as well and the Meters on New Years Eve and many more. I passed the place today on my way back from Boutte it's a wreck the building is up for lease and it looks like a storage yard for tractor trailers Jethro Tull and Alex Harvy Municiple Auditorium 1975 The crowd was rowdy that night did a little damage to the doors .A really outstanding performance by both Bands. I was at this show too Al, if I remember correctly it started off with Ian Anderson on piano with his derby hat playing Locomotive Breath " Rock on Dude!" Its worse than that some of the shows now dont even have tickets per say just a sheet of paper.or a wrist band.
