Nice guitars, Zoso1968! Your acoustic Jasmine cutaway, does it have a port where you can plug it into a speaker? My acoustic/electric cutaway gut string does. I bet yours does too. Also, love your dad's 60s guitar! Happy playing! (sorry, I know nothing about amps and stuff.) haha Good luck in procuring a Marshall for the bluesy zeppelin stuff! Edited June 15, 2009 by Fan_S. Jarlaxle 56
My own drum composition in 7/4 and 6/4 time, for a friend's band he wants me to drum in... This is what I have so far. It's actually very easy to play (for me at least). Removing the hi-hat/ride on the 2 and 5 in the first bar and on the 1 and 4 in the 2nd makes it a lot easier to play. danelectro
I'm still on a blues kick, been attending all the local Blues Fests this summer. As a result pretty much all I've been playing is blues. However for one reason or another I'm in a slump. Everything that comes from my hands sounds like Born In Chicago or Easy Baby. Also played Surfing with the Alien again the other day after not playing it for ages. Suprised I remembered it all!

Fan_S.
Landslide by Stevie Nicks This wonderful song uses "Travis" picking. This way, you can really hear that niicce! bass line! No strumming, here. So, it's a little harder. Just do it a lot without thinking of chords, just to get the feel of it. Takes some getting used to. But worth it! Basically, some rules of Travis pickin' are: Right hand plucks, instead of strums.Thumb plays bass strings (in red) while the trebles are plucked by index, middle and ring. (strings, G,B and E, respectively)The bass strings are the (see tabs) (top strings, while you're holding the guitar) E, A and D strings. The trebles are the (see tabs) (bottom strings) G, B & E strings. In Landslide, the plucking sequence is, thumb, index, middle, thumb, ring, index. To master the rhythm, there's a longer duration after the initial thumb pluck. In other words, after the thumb plucks, wait a little, and then do the rest of the plucking sequence in relatively quick succession.Like this, thumb (wait), then quickly, index-middle-thumb-ring-index. NOTES: ♩Left hand finger positions are indicated at left. ♩Right hand fingers are indicated on the right. ♩I'll only include, for today, the VERSE 1'cuz the bridge is a little tricky (and beautiful!!)
