hillsy
what shows are a must have for a diehard fan they are some pretty definative lists to be found on the internet, put i take it your pretty new to it all. Heres a few of my fave shows Filmore west 69 Texas pop festival 69 Royal albert hall 70 La forum 70 (blueberry hill) (any shows from this venue worth checking out!) Berkley 71 Japan 71(many consider this the greatest tour-The osaka shows are recomended) Seattle 72 LA forum 72 Long Beach 72 Europe 73(Again the whole tour is held in great esteem-Vienna Essen+Offenburg reccomended) LA forum 73 Seattle 73 Providence 73 Madison square garden 73 Any of the New york, Seattle, LA Forum& Earls court shows 75 Any of the LA&New york shows 77 (although the NY shows suffer from average sound quality) This is only my opinion, you'll find dozens more that will blow you away! docron
Here's a link to one of the many topics posted about this subject: http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php?showtopic=7 That thread covers it all from the best-sounding recordings to the rarest performances... We can't really help you other than that - everyone's got their own taste on this matter. Me? I am biased towards live recordings almost exclusively from the 1968-1972 era. So if I were to try and answer your post, I would give you the sh1ttiest sounding rare recording from 1969 before I would give you say, a great recording of Knebworth 1979. Anyways, I'm sure that thread has what you're looking for. P.S. 1969-01-05 1969-01-11 1969-03-16 1969-04-24 1969-04-27 1969-08-31 1969-10-10 1970-01-09 1970-03-07 1970-03-21 1970-09-04 1971-04-01 1971-08-31 1971-09-29 1972-06-25 All great sounding must-haves for starters. Bill
Too many to list...and honestly there is a lot of personal preference that goes into it... True but for starters you can't go wrong with Japan '71 or any LA or Seattle (except 1977 Kingdome) shows. If I was introducing somebody to their live stuff this is where I would start them.
