  1. The People's Front Of Zeppelin is a new YouTube channel devoted to playing covers of Zep's music, instrumentally (for now, until we find a great singer). Most of our cover videos are inspired by Zep's live style performances, but will also be posting studio versions as well. Please subscribe to our channel and follow us on Instagram and Facebook. Oh...and we are NOT the Zeppelin People's Front! 😏 Here is a link.... Hope you dig what we are about! If so, please spread the word!
  2. I just listened to Rush's debut album for the first time in years and one thing that stood out to me was how for a blues riff based rock band debut, with super high range vocals, they just utterly destroy GVF. Is there such a dearth of current bands that play that style and can actually play their instruments well that results in GVF holding the title now? I'm out of touch with who are really worth hearing so can someone recommend maybe 5 bands that are better than GVF? Because I find them to be very mediocre, and riding a lucky wave of popularity because of all the comparisons to Zep, which sounds shallow to me. Plus the singer has very little of the raw bluesy power, and vocal character that Plant had. He sounds much more like a poor man's Geddy Lee or Rik Emmett.
  3. Totally!! BFD!! Where the fuck is the live stuff??? 😤
  4. I seem to remember Bonzo singing them live sometimes....maybe in '70? Have to go listen.
  5. I always thought it was Bonzo. Sounds like him and I read it somewhere, can't remember where though and if it's confirmed anywhere.
  6. Sorry, the thank you was meant for you. Sorry, I was on a roll.
  7. Haha, well said. As the good old saying goes... everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but they're not entitled to their own facts. The problem with music , or any art, is subjectivity obscures the facts or makes people think they don't apply or are irrelevant, because it's "art" , freedom of expression, is totally subjective/in the eye of the beholder. Well, to my ears , Jimmy sounds like one of those "shred " videos on most of this show and many others post 75. I'm not a guitarist, but it's pretty clear to me that his articulation went way down in 77, to a point where it's painfully embarrassing much of the time. Of course there is passion and creative brilliance , it's Jimmy Page !! But there becomes a certain point when feeling alone is not enough when the technical aspects have gotten so fucked. I think this is probably why there won't be much if anything that will be officially released from the later tours . It takes some serious rose colored ears to think he was in good form here. Objectively speaking, his ideas were choppy, he's missing lots of notes, his articulation was a mess, open strings sounding all over, so at some point you have to say...damn , his playing was in rough shape. Otherwise you're making excuses or simply don't have musical ears....some people don't, but they think they do...it's a fact! That said....thank you for your efforts on the remaster, it sounds as good as it will most likely get.
  8. This was Virtual Zeppelin , basically we all left and started our own channel. We will be posting a lot of videos ....have a look and listen.
  9. PFoZ latest video . Please subscribe to our YouTube channel for more instrumental Zep covers.
  10. I love the Bossa Nova version of NQ! Bonzo's entrance and massive fills are so great!
  11. If not then this gesture seems more like its for their own benefit, so they don't look like complete bungholes for what they did. Still , if LK feels better , then I guess that's most important....but it seems like a weak sentiment. "Glad he's enjoying...hope you feel better"....WTF?? He's dying!
  12. Yeah, that sentiment rang hollow. Was there a sincere apology for screwing him over?
  13. Thank you. We will see if she's interested. Could be fun!
  14. Would you know how to contact her? I'm part of a YouTube project called Virtual Zeppelin and we would love to invite her to sing on a video of ours. Right now we are looking for a singer but we have been posting instrumental versions in the meantime. It's a serious band, and top level players. No bullshit.
  15. Yes....but it fills some gaps, different perspective blah blah .
  16. Happy New Year folks....here's the latest from Virtual Zeppelin. Hope you dig it. Thanks to everyone who has visited and subscribed to our YT channel.
  17. I heard the samples, they are peaked out and the fluctuations make me wonder if azimuth correction was done, or where they got this source...but the pitch is correct, not too slow.
  18. Ha! Thanks Willie, I kind of feel the same, but I know most people will want to see and hear a vocalist when we get this thing airborne and present some shows. What I like about what we are currently doing though is it really brings the music into focus, all the interlocking parts, the harmonies, the bass and drum interactions, the nuances.
  19. Thanks, glad you enjoy the channel. I enjoy the instrumentals as well , and since we are having a hard time finding a suitable vocalist, we decided to post our videos as instrumentals. It's a nice way to focus on all of the interlocking parts, inner voices, bass lines etc.
