  1. Funny to think Sinatra was originally cast as Dirty Harry, they even filmed several scenes with him before he quit the role. Also, he could not hold the Model 29 Eastwood brandishes in the movie as it was too heavy for Sinatra. Damn, old Blue Eye's as Sinatra...NAH.
  2. Oh no! I did not know Nick passed. I also enjoyed his show and he seemed a genuinely nice guy.
  3. He used the Strat on the 18th & 23rd, I did not know he used it on the 17th as well.
  4. Priest, Maiden is very good but I prefer Priest.
  5. I was gonna post that. Aimee Mann was, and is amazing.
  6. I am just speculating here but Robert was a midlands bloke with no formal musical training, Jones was a formally trained musician from London and very professional. Robert was Mr. Groupie & party while with Zep, Jones typically did not associate with the band after a gig but preferred his own circle of friends and stayed in rented houses or with friends while on the road (starting around the 73' tour I believe). I figure Robert believed Jones was being a snob when in fact Jones was the only one being smart. I believe it is as simple as that. Also, Robert is likely intimidated by Jones breath of knowledge regarding music and may have called Robert out a time or two when they were putting together songs in the studio. Or maybe Jones made a stupid comment in 1971 and Robert never forgave him. Anything is possible with people.
  7. RIP Jesus, you had a nice run until the Romans got ya. Buddha to, I hope Nirvana is all you hoped it would be. Special shout out to Pac & Biggie...too bad neither one is going back to Cali.
  8. This one and the version from the 23rd are the best versions of NQ IMO. Also, Page uses the Strat on both of these night's and does some very freaky stuff with the whammy bar (especially on the 23rd), but does not go overboard with it. That is one of my favorite aspects of Page's use of the whammy, he knows when to use it and how to use it but never over-uses it.
  9. Not my fault it was cold that day
  10. I have a lovely pic of myself from Naked Gardening Day...shall I post that?
  11. Ha, you get it once a week (or I'm my case, once when Venus transits Uranus) 5 minutes is serious marathon shit right there!
  12. Once a week! Damn, your wife must be generous.
  13. Yes but one cannot, or should I say should not, get intimate with a dog. Therin lay the downside. That and I don't have to pick up my wife shit...I only have to take it
  14. Have you heard some of the boots from Rotterdam or Frankfurt? No sticky fingers there. The Rotterdam Heartbreaker is one of Page's best versions as just one example. Of course if you don't like it to each their own, I respect your opinion.
  15. Could not disagree more as there are plenty of good shows on that tour. In fact I would put 50% of those shows in the very good range where I would only place 1/3 of the 77' shows in the very good range but, as Paul said, to each their own.
  16. I agree with you on this. As Zeppelin was a four piece, the instrumental section had to be tight, if ANY member of the instrumental section was off the whole show sounded like shit to me. This is why the only boots I find acceptable is when Jimmy, JPJ, & JB are all on point. There are plenty of 77' & 80' shows where this is the case (though in 80' Bonzo was reserved, he was not bad) so I don't complain. The shows in 77' I gravitate toward are the MSG & the first three LA shows, plus the final Landover show as well. In 80' the first four shows are great as well as Frankfurt.
  17. Sorry, but I do not exactly agree. He nailed this song live about 1/3 of the time. Sure, that is pretty shitty that only one in three shows Jimmy played this song good but that is a far cry from two shows. He nails the shit outta this song on almost every MSG & LA show, Pontiac, and the final Landover date just to name a few. Though to be fair I do agree I just cannot understand why he consistently fucked up the first, easy solo 2/3 of the time???? He rarely had a problem with the second or outro solos which were far more complicated. Now my contenders for most fucked up song live is a tie between Tempe 77' Achilles & July 23rd 79' Copenhagen MMH. I believe Jimmy got his dick caught in the strings on the latter.
  18. The radioactive isotopes in the carbon decay full after around 25K, after that it becomes guesswork as that is how carbon dating works. The determine the decay of the isotope and that determines the age plus or minus a century or so and depending if any events, natural or otherwise occurred to contaminate the isotope.
  19. Not sure but the one on Jimmy's left (our right) looks pretty blazed.
  20. Regarding the earlier civilizations, I was referring to the period only as far back as 25,000 years ago. We have seen through our own history how quickly humans can advance thus it is quite easy to have been at our current technological state at least four times and been destroyed. There is actually plenty of evidence re: the Giza Pyramid Complex, Puma Punku, etc. which show stonework done on extremely hard, brittle rock which could only be accomplished with advanced technology such as lasers. Plus, as mentioned earlier, geology does not lie. The Sphinx has been recently dated to around 12,000 - 10,000 bc with the absolute earliest construction period being 8,000bc due to erosion patterns. The Giza Pyramids were not built during the third dynasty as historical texts have always claimed and the most recent estimates place the date of construction at least 3,000 years earlier, or around 5,800 bc. Besides the famous Giza Pyramids, there are, I believe seven other pyramids of similar size and construction (but not exactly the same) which run along a line north to south. The real kick is geologists discovered the placement was not random as all these periods were built around the same time along the bank of the Nile where it would have existed from 8,000 - 6,000bc before it began to shift eastward. Of course anything is possible, even people barely out of the stone age using advanced mathematics and building techniques is not impossible, however it is highly improbable. Plus, what are all pyramids built after the Giza and north-south longitude Nile Pyramids shitty ziggurat, smallish, poorly constructed crap? What, did the contractor take the techniques to the grave? What I do not believe: Fake moon landings, chemtrails, the Illuminati, etc. That being said I do believe the world is controlled by corporations and oligarchs. Our governments are a sham.
