Wolfman
http://news.aol.com/article/lynnette-squea...leased%2F604816 If you remember in the HOTG book, she supposedly was frantic about trying to give a note to Jimmy. Hotel security brushed her off but reconized her later when she was arrested for trying to shoot President Ford. Could have been scary if she gotten her way. SteveAJones
Squeaky Fromme's Coming Home ......Feel Safe Now? More evidence that Barack Obama and the Democrats have made America less safe... Kidding. There apparently is a rule that says if you try to assassinate the President, you never get out of jail - unless it is Gerald Ford. Word today is that former Charles Manson follower and attempted Presidential assassin Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme will be released from her jail cell in Texas on August 16th. Sarah Jane Moore, who also tried to kill Ford in 1975, was paroled last year. No doubt that her friends and family have been doing the 'Uncle Joey' from Back to the Future thing for the past 20 years now - you know, the 'Welcome Home' cake that gets wasted because he didn't make parole. Fromme was convicted of trying to kill Ford back in 1975, while she was dressed as a nun, holding a .45 caliber pistol. Fromme forgot or purposefully left the chamber empty on the attempt, but was convicted anyway. If you think that this was just a one time case of foolishness by Fromme, think again. This lady is F'ed up six ways to Sunday.... She was in the Manson Family for about 5 years - not exactly a short term dalliance.. She then hooked up with the Aryan Brotherhood, and was or wasn't involved in the double homicide of a California couple. In March 1975, she tried to meet Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, because 'something bad would happen to him'. They blew her off. Then came her assassination attempt. Oh, we're not done yet..... In 1979, she attacked a fellow inmate with the end of a claw hammer, and in 1987, she escaped from her prison in West Virginia in an attempt to meet up with Manson - 18 years after their last contact !! This lady is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs , people..... But hey, she's been good since then. This gives John Hinckley, Mark David Chapman, Sirhan Sirhan - and maybe even Manson himself - hope that someday they'll be paroled too.... Strider
Yeah, she was a nutter all right...one of many in those strange daze of the late-60's-70's: The Manson Family, the Zodiac Killer, Boston Strangler, Son of Sam, the SLA-Patty Hearst debacle, the list of goes on-and-on. Squeaky was one of those who carved a swastika in her forehead during the Manson trial. I guess because she failed in her attempt is the only reason why she isn't locked up for life...can't believe she won't be monitored in some way, though. Somebody(FBI, police) will be keeping tabs on her, especially to see if she tries to contact crazy Charlie.

I enjoyed it, thank you for the nice read, but Why "unless...". What is wrong with this particular U.S. President? Take it as a question from a newbee, I really am interested. Take it as a question from a newbee, I really am interested. Only two people sentenced to prison for attempting to assasinate a U.S. President have ever been paroled, and it so happens both tried to assasinate Gerald Ford. Sara Jane Moore was released last year and now Squeaky Fromme. A poor attempt at humor by the author of the article.
lzzoso
http://news.aol.com/article/lynnette-squea...leased%2F604816 If you remember in the HOTG book, she supposedly was frantic about trying to give a note to Jimmy. Hotel security brushed her off but reconized her later when she was arrested for trying to shoot President Ford. Could have been scary if she gotten her way. Actually, if you want to get technical, according to the book, Hammer of the Gods, it was not hotel security that brushed her off, it was Led Zeppelin publicist, Danny Goldberg, that brushed her off. According to the book, "Squeaky Fromme" tried to get in contact with Jimmy Page and was instead referred to Danny Goldberg who told her it was immpossible to see Jimmy. He had her write Jimmy a note and said that he would pass it on to him. Apparently he did not. The rest is pretty much common knowledge. Am I wrong?
