  1. Well now, THIS will be worth they price tag whatever it'll be. A super deluxe release of Quad is long overdue. Great news here.
  2. In the rock world, Rodgers is most notable for his clear, husky vocals on a string of mid-1970s hits with the bands Free and Bad Company, including........ Sorry, but Free and Bad Company should never be mentioned together in the same sentence. Free and Free Lite maybe, but...........

  4. Pete was punk before anybody ever thought of the term..........
  5. I read about that tour earlier this week. I hope Daltrey realizes he's going to be playing to half empty houses, or worse. Unfortunately you're right, Zeppelin is the anti-who..........they never did this after Bonham's death.
  6. Townshend posted a PDF file on his old website for all to read almost a year before his so called bust for kiddie porn. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. To the best of my knowledge he was never convicted of anything. They confiscated his computers and other personal belongings and found nothing to charge him on. Of course, the "press" really never printed this with the same fire and brimstone that they used when they first reported his kiddie porn bust. But then again, they never do follow up well do they.
  7. Yes I did say that. Somehow this morphed into the other guy blasting me for saying either the American or British Army were no different than the terrorists. Al Qaeda is an enemy army, they train like one, they have orders and they have targets which they do their best to destroy......along with innocent people. At least you know the real reason why American forces are currently in Afghanistan, so props to you for that.
  8. No that's not what I said at all. Read it again before you hurl insults. Nowhere did I remotely infer the military was a terrorist organization, not even close. Others have but not me. Myopic is a very good word though, had to look that up did you?
  9. The end results are the same. Death. The military calls it "collateral damage", accidental but death none the less. Regardless of what's targeted, terrorists wage war and the results are or can be anyway, massive loss of life. Whose national security objective? A gutless Congress who folded like a fucking tent to Bush/Cheney? Saadam ordered the attacks on the Twin Towers did he? I must have missed that factoid. The Taliban leadership should have been taken out similar to what happened to Bin Laden. The original US military attack on the country toppled them, but Bush had his targets set on Iraq, so that all went backwards. Now, Obama has his own little Afghani war going on there. Once again, take out the leadership as required but leave the military in a full scale invasion force out of the equation. You may not care about winning hearts and minds, but as an American myself I'm fully aware that there is the rest of the world out there. I didn't mean to appease anyone nor do I lose sleep over other countries not liking us. But I DO care about how it's done and I just don't believe the past two administrations have done it the right way.
  10. Terrorism by definition is the planned and skillful killing of innocent and unsuspecting people in able to cause confusion, panic and yes...terror. These people have done nothing wrong other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This happened on 9/11/01 didn't it? All of those poor souls who died that day did nothing wrong besides showing up for work. None of them had any influence or lent any expertise into shaping U.S. foreign policy. None of them ever voted for unlimited foreign aide to Israel either. No, none of those poor people who died that day did anything wrong. Yet they died horrible deaths none the less. Terrorists are no different than other armed members of an enemy army or other assorted armed combatants in general. The terrorists themselves have stated they're all "soldiers of the Jihad". So what's the problem? You hunt them down and either bring them to justice or kill them outright. Where I have a personal problem with all of this is invading foreign nations. Iraq had nothing directly to do with 9/11 and Afghanistan is an under developed rat hole. What happened to Bin Laden should have been the plan all along when it comes to "the war on terror". Send in the special forces who are trained for a thing like this. Send them in to kill who needs to be killed. The United States hasn't won many hearts globally by invading two nations the past decade. Are American citizens any safer because this was done? Really? I'm not political so please no "democrats suck" or "republicans blow" comments. This issue goes way beyond partisan nonsense.
  11. I always liked Dylan and I personally think Blood On The Tracks is one of the finest LP's ever recorded, but I really never really got into him until his Bootleg series started to be issued. The one issued a couple of years ago "Tell Tale Signs" which covered 1989-2006 was just remarkable. I might be a minority of one, but I think his music from "Time Out Of Mind" through "Together Through Life" is the best stuff he's ever released. But hey, that's just me.
  12. There's something to be said for the United States to stop being the global police agency. I don't disagree with that at all actually. I don't have much of an issue with what happened to Bin Laden either. Although I personally don't think he had as much to do with 9/11 as the rest of the world seems to believe, the man himself accepted the publicity and ran with it. He had to pay the price as have other leaders of Al Queda. This really should have been the 'war on terror' all along, target the leaders who have sworn to do harm. Instead we invaded a country that had no direct linkage to what happened in New York and we now have an entire generation of dead or severely wounded veterans (not to mention tons of dead Iraqi civilians). Bin Laden is dead, get the hell out of Afghanastan now then. Mission accomplished.

  14. Fox News reported on his assumed death back in December 2001 http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,41576,00.html Then CNN had a report in January 2002 that he was dead according to then Pakistani President Musharraf http://edition.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/asiapcf/south/01/18/gen.musharraf.binladen/ Or even opinion pieces that have actual facts in them like this http://spectator.org/archives/2009/03/13/osama-bin-elvis Of course none of these (and tons of other reports over the last decade) could be correct because President Obama just said it happened yesterday.............. Right?
  15. Beck is just tremendous. Not only can he shred and blast at will but he can support singers like this. He did the same with Imogene Heep. In my humble opinion there's nobody better than Jeff Beck.
  16. John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, Pharaoh Sanders, Anthony Braxton,Freddie Hubbard, Miles (both acoustic and electric), Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Pat Martino, Joe Henderson..........the list is literally endless for me.
  17. Well thank you for posting this list. This collection looks very.............unfortunate.
  18. Good Times Bad Times. It was the first LZ tune I ever heard. They weren't on the radio where I lived at all and a school buddy of mine told me they were "heavy". So I bought LZ I and that was.........the very first tune. It remains a personal favorite to this day.
  19. Well this sure sounds interesting. I really REALLY hope they get it right. There's a lot of stuff worthy of release on something like this, so here's hopin'
  20. Various old favorites on YouTube before they take everything down.............. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-ct-viacom-20101204,0,4121680.story Here's one though...............
  21. That's too bad it got taken down. I was listening to it this morning and it was a pretty cool thing. Merry Clayton and Mick especially were compelling when their voices were stripped away from the backing tracks.
  22. Thanks very very much for the link. Remarkalbe stuff.
  23. Everything is connected...............always is..........................
  24. I'll never get over the fact that John Lennon was shot to death. Who would want to do that? What kind of evil mindset would drive a person to want to shoot John Lennon?? Never ever will I remotely grasp the concept of why this happened. Happy Birthday John.
