Hey porgie66, is this something you are putting together or a part of?

One thing that I would love to see at some point - a tribute band that nails different live era's perfectly. The crisp, confident early years, The 73/75 shows, somewhat of a representation of what '77 would have been like with the intensity and manic drums and power, and some of the intense '80 tour like WLL, TU, ALS, etc.

Not all in the one show, (or maybe - but split into "segments") but choose a period, and create a tribute show for that period. Then change once it gets routine. I'm not sure if that exists, but it should! I reckon it would kick ass.

  2. Are you hungry Chilli? Because you keep taking the bait. :hysterical:

Funny that Canada ran out of product only a few days in. Made me chuckle reading that. And I'd be very surprised if many people didn't grow their own as a hobby.

I wonder how many decades behind Australia will be? Spurred into action only if/when NZ do what they promised and join Canada. My God, the tourism boost NZ would be in for. Stoned at Milford Sound. MUST be a pretty awesome experience....

Two of the three surviving members couldn't care less about the 50th anniversary. Adjust expectations accordingly. 😉

I am so happy to see someone use couldn't care less properly.

And that little pearl may actually work in favour of releases. Less dissent as no fucks given.

  4. Finally, the rain ceases and the lawn gets mowed. Listened to Seattle, 1975 (Cuztard Pi matrix) while mowing and after. All 4 stand out incredibly at this show at various parts. A really great performance.

Also went for a ride with the missus this morning. Nice and sunny, traffic was relaxed, and still only Saturday.

    Life is good.....

    Not likely....

Reason # 1 --- I still have much to mine and unearth from the music period of my youth, which I naturally favor.

Reason # 2 --- Not that much motivated to "look around". That was never my style. And it didn't have to be, back in the day. There was just an embarrassing amount of good "low hanging fruit", that I never developed the skills to wade through mountains of shit to find a diamond. After all, my "era" IS the Motherload...:thumbsup:

I'm just now discovering the untold riches of the '70's. There is indeed an embarrassment of plentiful low hanging fruit.

By far the best musical era. Greatest decade for rock and music generally ever.

    Vegemite?

Tourists usually get pranked with Vegemite. Tour guides like to pile that shit on when giving samples and heartily laughing under their breath. No self respecting aussie has more than the thinnest scrape on toast as it is all you need!

I thank Australia for the beaches. Specifically the ones on the Sunshine Coast like Maroochy and that spot at Cotton Tree.

That and being lucky enough to be a single country continent - avoiding a lot of the shit the rest of the world at times goes through (but helping out when needed).

  7. Got my new two hungie dollar 1440 monitor today. What a mad bargain. I'm loving it so far. This is spectacular....

  8. GREAT weekend almost over. Don't mind at all as I am not on call for two weeks now. Got a few odd jobs done, relaxed and slept in way too long with the missus which was nice. Kids back to school tomorrow, MASSIVE leg of lamb on the Weber now.

I have a How the East Was Won to listen to thanks to Neil. :drinks:-  Next weekend when I can get right into the zone.

    .....life is good.

  9.

Best TU ever I'd say. Jonesy took a massive dose of funk pills for this one. All throughout he is killing it like I haven't heard elsewhere. Possibly his best on the keys. Jimmy and Jonesy duelling and swapping lead/follow like BOSSES. The middle solo is superb. Funky and never losing its intensity and flavour. The outtro launches into outerspace when Plant starts the "woooo" and guitar follows him out of the stratosphere. Then it all climaxes with an incredible intensity that genuinely makes me think there could well have been a riot immediately following that last note. Energy levels OFF THE CHARTS.

This alone is worth the price of admission in terms of the 1980 tour and how uneven it was.

Mine arrived today (UK purchase). Slight bump on a corner but nothing major and no fault with printing. Was surprised the poster was folded for some reason and shocked at how heavy it is. As a relative newbie I have not seen the majority of the pictures. A couple of thoughts. How wonderful is great rock photography considering it was a newish medium in the 1960's the artistry is amazing. The picture of Bonzo with the toy drum kit and the washing on the line made me grin like a Cheshire cat, and you can feel the energy from the onstage images. The crowd images are astonishing. Care has been taken in creating this book.

I am going to make inquiries at a local framers regarding if it is possible to iron out the creases in the folded poster and frame it.

Have people been receiving their pre-ordered LZ by LZ books? The book itself is great but mine arrived with an error in the gold embossing on the cover, like they ran out of gold before getting to the bottom. As annoying as an error of this sort is, I'm more annoyed that I have not received a response from Reel Art Press since I contacted them 3 days ago about it. Hopefully, for their sake, this was just an isolated incident and not a wide-scale problem.

Thats pretty poor. I got mine early last week. Very well packaged and flawless. I hope they can sort yours out.

  12. I got my Ozbargain Medion PC delivered - and low and behold, no need to go through the reformat C drive rigmarole as it has minimal bloatware (1 program). YAY!!!!!!!

Ready to go. Now to cut over my Steam library and wait for BF5 release. :hurrah:

And No. 1 Son inherits my current gaming rig, so win-win.
