My company had a Christmas party on that many, many years ago. Was a killer night. I got to see one of the older Sales ladies dancing - which was quickly agreed to be called the "Chicken dance".

.....good times. It's a great restaurant/party venue possibility.

Also makes me wanna redo the nitpick with a more realistic source as I was obviously deceived.

Mate, I reckon the clearer (dryer) soundboards are the ones that deceive as that is not anywhere near the experience when attending the performance. So Liriodendrons ability to liven up a dry board and give it a closer alignment to what was actually delivered to the audience in my view is the best way to approach boots - especially when reviewing.

The Millard tapes in LA - especially the really nice remaster of LTTE - lets you close your eyes and basically feel like you are right there when the right hardware is used and volume achieved. I would imagine that would by far be a better boot to review than a soundboard should it ever drop.

    Cheers.

These sorts of things and more were scrapped together to produce official music videos for Traveling Riverside Blues (1990) and Whole Lotta Love (2007).

Cheers. What about any time anyone discussed with them the possibilities of doing film clips to their music either during their reign or afterwards? Or if Page/Grant themselves ever discussed or considered it?

I don't recall seeing anyone ever (in interviews) bring this up. Surely it must have been broached at some point. Maybe early on and immediately ruled out??

  4. I just watched virtual Zep and it made me wonder..... (qualifies as a SAJ Mystery????)

Did Peter/Jimmy ever get approached about film clips to their catalogue at any time? MTV and the music video thing was obviously after their time - BUT there are quite a number of really nice video's put together from way before 68/69. Communication Breakdown they did the promo clip for, TRB's had a clip put to it as well.

Apart from the odd promo clip (Kashmir using Earls Court footage - which I can't believe is a rarity! WLL I think) - none have been produced officially AFAIK, but was it ever discussed or considered?

When Jimmy did the re-release campaign should he have selected key tracks off each album and authorized some video? Bring Zep to TV's music channels??? He could have engaged top music video creators/producers - or whoever he wanted really. I don't see how anyone would turn down a gig like that and it could have added a dimension to tracks that take nothing else away from it if done right.

  5. off the drink after my birthday (later this month) for a year, again. This time, next birthday I'll have a drink, but thats it. no alcohol except for my birthday.

I'm enjoying a small break from work and drinking at the moment, but looking forward to giving it away permanently with the birthday exception.

The '77 Jimmy solo transition that really sticks out for me is the end of "White Summer/Black Mountain Side" going into "Kashmir."

Jimmy is sitting on a small stool while soloing, and for the last note of Black Mountain Side, Jimmy stands and kicks the stool back in one motion, and immediately launches into the opening chords of the epic "Kashmir," with the power, the full force, the "Hammer Of The Gods..."

The Listen to this Eddie remaster really brings out how powerful and awesome this moment is. It must have been life changing to have attended the better '77 concerts.

  7. Its frustrating for us fans, yeah, but there will be more. Jimmy Page works to Jimmy Page time. This is far different to normal mortal time.

I really hope there is some announcement or something soon though. Stuff going another 6-12 months without a clue.

I read it differently, as he always holds his cards close by. I think the digital (and hopefully later a limited cd / blu ray audio edition) version of live concerts / compilation tracks will be released to honor their 50th.

    R😎

I also read it differently. He hadn't quite nailed down his "avoidance" response to the question since he does have things on the go but is not willing to divulge anything yet. I cannot believe the book (as brilliant as it is) is the sole representation of Zeppelin releases for the 50th. No way. We know at the very least he can expand upon DVD content, the Bath stuff that resurfaced, SouthHampton and Osaka possible multi Tracks, talk of streaming, heretofore unknown vault material.... There has got to be something.

  9. Wow. My magnificent missus just told me she won two tickets to see No Quarter - Led Zep tribute show down at Twin Towns this weekend. Looked for Accom and got a beautiful old motel (Old aussie pub facade) for under a hundred bucks for the night too. TOO GOOD. :yes2:
