  1. Mr. Bonzo can rock a scarf like our Jimmy.
  2. According to the George Case book, Jimmy said he's known JB since they were 11 years old but didn't realize they shared a common interest in the guitar until they were 14. So yeah, they definitely knew each other before 1961.
  3. I believe Jimmy and Jeff Beck knew each other since childhood, isn't that right Steve A. Jones? I shall look at my "Maven" book this evening and see when Jeff skulked onto the scene...
  4. Julie, surely you celebrate Halloween in Oz, right? Australians are a notoriously fun-loving bunch, I can't believe they'd let this holiday pass by. TypeO, your boy is handsome, even with the gaping head wounds. I really admire that "crying child" pumpkin that Strider posted. Someone there was thinking outside of the box, kudos to 'em.
  5. Type O, geez - you're hardcore, man! That's disturbingly realistic. I've gotten squeamish in my old age.
  6. Ian McCulloch "Different Trees" I think he's becoming Leonard Cohen, in a good way.
  7. Chillumpuffer's neighbours are probably posting in the "What made you unhappy today" thread right about now ...
  8. York is a beautiful place. I'll think about the time I was there and it will make me happy. Yeah, walking along the medieval city walls - that's a good memory
  9. Congrats, Sozo. I tried to do that once and quit (it involved first converting something from video). Technology makes me sad. Oh wait - this is the happy thread: think of something happy! OK. The office is relatively quiet and the bosses are out of town. It's not much, but that's all I got. Strider, is that your little cat on the previous page? She's a cutie.
  10. Money-Grabber by Fitz & the Tantrums. I don't mind though, it's a great one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggbNKKDTBNA
  11. That outfit: only Jimmy Page would dare.

    Tennis

Ten inches more, impressive. I hope my boy doesn't retire. He's such an elegant presence.
  13. "You're Gonna Change or I'm Gonna Leave" Hank Williams, Sr. To the pain of those around me, I also try to sing along.
  14. No! Poor gal. that's really sad.
  15. Jimmy is prettier than Jagger, that's why. He seems to like/admire photographers as well. I can understand photographers finding him an irresistible subject, especially as a young man when he dressed with such flair (the custom-made dragon suits, chunky jewelry, fearless mixing of florals with stripes) and had such a dark/mysterious air about him. David Gilmour was mostly a t-shirt and jeans guy, who was already getting pudgy in his 20s (still beautiful, don't get me wrong). "A Saucerful of Secrets" biography claimed that the English music papers in the 70s teased him mercilessly for having greasy hair. He's introverted, as is Jimmy, but Jimmy is more charismatic. Gilmour is very private and doesn't seem to enjoy attention the way other musicians do. Page is private too of course, but also seems to be a charming & social man. Think of the encounters with him that people on these forums have written about - he's lovely!
  16. That was a good movie. I missed the first part, where the plot and characters were established, but was somehow able to keep up.
  17. OMG, I enjoy all of those. Really, you don't like Bonzo's Montreaux? I used to dislike The Crunge, but I even enjoy that now.
  18. His eyes though - they look bewildered, like he's not sure where he is or why. I couldn't watch the whole thing, the man is clearly suffering on some level, no matter how sassy or twattish his comments may seem. I prefer to just listen to his drumming and admire that. He was (is?) an incredible musician. Mad as a mongoose though.
  19. Getting back to the subject of Jimmy and his hotness - the Dark Lord in white, it is to dream with one's eyes open:
  20. Ooh nice. Me, going considerably lower on the culture scale: "Kiss Me" by Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy
  21. Some people give so much to your life through their music, it's almost as if you have "met" in some way (would it be pretentious to say on the soul level? Yes? Then I won't). I felt a bit like that when Ray Manzarek died: I've loved the Doors' music all my life, it seems unreal that he's gone.
  22. Happy (belated) birthday, Strider! Ah, so you're a Leo like another certain someone beloved to these boards...
