  1. I don't spend very much time around graveyards. Usually I say a prayer for those who have gone before me so they may rest in peace, putting myself in the hands of Christ the Redeemer; and for those hard-to-manage ghosts, there are these prayers if I happen to have a priest handy or variations thereof. http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/uploads/emoticons/default_blink.png' alt=''> Otherwise, in the absence of an actual priest, a plain Our Father will do. Personally, I kind of prefer the Bigfoot stories and films; but just the other night I was watching one of those paranormal investigator shows, and wouldn't you just know it, they were solving the mystery of a demon-infested house, and conveniently by the show's end that house was finally free of the ghosts that had seemingly haunted the inhabitants. Seems one of the ghosts had the hots for the young woman who lived there, and you know how that story goes.

  3. They all look like Maureen after awhile. I guess he could have lived like a monk while he was on the road, and slept alone every night; but that is not who he is.
  4. Rock stars get confused; after awhile, all the ladies start to remind them of their wives; for the men it's sometimes hard to tell the difference.
  5. JC Penney knew the economy was weak when it launched the ad campaign; again, slow sales are not surprising. Fifty per cent of JC Penney's customers are middle class, and the middle class is presently looking for ways to cut costs, not for ways to spend. National unemployment is high, the housing market is plagued by poor lending practices and a large number of foreclosures, and people hesitate to spend money, postponing purchases.
  6. It's not surprising in view of the current United States economy, but JC Penney's stock (JCP 37.71) is still rated triple B by Standard & Poor's, above junk bond status according to Forbes.

  8. Carne Asado takes beef stew meat, garlic, onion, cumin, black pepper, olive oil, broth, and tomato sauce; other ingredients for the grocery list may include rice, refried beans, salsa, lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and tortillas. Another way to make Carne Asada is with skirt steak, limes, garlic, salt, black pepper, onion; also shop for beans, rice, radishes, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, salt, serrano pepper.
  9. Here's a recipe for pot roast that goes into a 325 degree oven and includes garlic, onions, carrots, celery, red chiles, and plum tomatoes; the recipe also calls for black pepper, olive oil, bay leaves, rosemary, dry red wine and chicken broth. And here is a recipe for herb pepper crusted beef filet that is similar to a black bean crusted beef filet that I once made in the oven that was very good; it takes thyme, rosemary, black peppercorns, salt, evaporated milk, fresh tarragon, grainy Dijon mustard, and shallots. You could probably substitute sour cream for the evaporated milk. Again, it's not barbeque, but the oven will warm up the house with a fragrant aroma.
  10. I put chicken in a slow cooker last night; the meat fell off the bone when I removed it a moment ago, and a delicious aroma drifts through the house. Next comes the sauce from the broth derived from the chicken, pearl onions, mushrooms, red wine, tomato paste, sea salt, black pepper and herbs. I'll probably mash some new potatoes for a side dish, and fix a romaine salad. It's not exactly barbeque, but delightful on a cool spring day. Usually I prefer vegetarian or fish but lately I've been craving chicken.
  11. It's his Moon in Pisces that causes it.
  12. Your husband must take responsibility for his own actions; it's wrong to blame the members of Led Zeppelin for his choices. Interestingly, John Paul Jones remains wedded to his original wife; their union has survived all the years of touring. Each person is an individual and makes his own choices according to his own needs. Perhaps not all choices are the best, but you live and learn. I'm sorry your husband was so inconsiderate; you deserve better treatment. Have you been able to forgive him? It can be hard to carry the hurt with you into the future. Have you been able to meet someone new? Often it's the people who ease the pain in life who matter the most.
  13. And yet it's like finishing the last jar of tomato basil sauce; he still needs to get more to go with his angel hair pasta.
  14. Actually I wasn't even thinking about that; I've been distracted watching Brett Michaels House of Love re-runs.
  15. I remember it being on the front page in California that morning; when my uncle went out happy and smiling to pick up the newspaper from the front porch and came back looking grim and sad, I knew something was wrong. But of course it would make sense if the story were front page news in Los Angeles, because Ritchie Valens was from Los Angeles, and he died along with Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper.
  16. I agree; originally Led Zeppelin evolved as the New Yardbirds. Of the four members of Led Zeppelin, only Jimmy Page was ever a member of the Yardbirds. Page was the one who auditioned people to join the band and organized the selection process.
