  1. QFT. Amen, brother. Unless you live in Carolina and San Diego, I think all of America wants to see NE vs. DEN and SF vs. SEA next week in the Conference Championship games. They have been the four best and most consistently good teams this season. Walter, nothing to say about my top players list that you asked for? There are some quarterbacks that can wear a beard. Aaron Rodgers. Ben Roethlisberger. Brett Favre. Dan Fouts and Kenny Stabler could rock the hell out of a beard back in the day. Andrew Luck is not one of those guys. He looks ridiculous with his beard.
  2. Disastrous start by the Colts. But I've seen the Colts come back on the Patriots before...of course, that was with Payton Manning at the helm. Now we'll see if Luck truly has the goods. pottedplant, you are too kind.
  3. Cheer up, potted...Brees and the Who Dats will be back.
  4. ^^^ You're a little convoluted Rick. Lombardi's last two championships were Super Bowls not the first two. Counting NFL Titles as distinct from the Super Bowl, which didn't even exist until the 1966 season, Lombardi won 5 NFL Championships s the head coach of the Packers...1961-62-65-66-67. At the end of the 66 and 67 seasons, the Packers then played the AFL Champions in the firat two Super Bowls, beating Kansas City and Oakland.
  5. Friday afternoon. Picked up my nephew up from school...me, my brother and his kid headbanging to Hammerhead's "Meanderthal" cranked to 11 in the car on our way to get ice cream at Scoops. Maple Lemon Captain Crunch and Salty Chocolate. Look at the delight on my nephew's face. Friday morning I was feeling low...but how can you not feel happy looking at that kid's face?
  6. You deserve it for all the good work you do.
  7. Walter, PLAYOFFS? What are playoffs? Take two daiquiris and repeat as needed. My sympathies.
  8. ^^^ How old is junior? I'm with my Seahawks loving friend and his boy and they're going nuts too!
  9. Hello darlin'! So where are you watching the game? In the sanctuary of your home or at a pub with a bunch of your fellow Who Dats? Feeling nervous?
  10. Differences in training regimens, equipment, rules and playing strategy...it's very hard to compare players of different eras. Hell, many linebackers and linemen of the 50s and 60s would look puny next to the players of today. Overall team speed has vastly improved, too. Anyway, here are my top 10 NFL players that I have seen in my lifetime...sorry Jim Brown, Otto Graham, Dick Butkis and the other old-timers. 1. Quarterback: Joe Montana 2. Running Back: Marcus Allen 3. Receiver: Jerry Rice 4. TE: Kellen Winslow 5. O-Line: Center: Jim Otto Guard: John Hannah Tackle: (tie) Art Shell, Anthony Munoz 6. D-line: Mean Joe Greene 7. Linebacker: Jack Lambert 8. Secondary: Ronnie Lott 9. Punter: Ray Guy 10. Kicker: Adam Vinatiari
  11. Where's the vomit emoticon when you need it? Seriously Paul, how can you stand to eat that stuff?
  12. The Fabulous Forum has reopened for business. Your spiritual home awaits, Robert.
  13. Chrisalchin, if I was going to classify it at all, I would call it London Art School Fashion.
  14. Nothing against Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, who are fine guitarists and gentlemen, but to this old codger the Allman Brothers ceased being the Allman Brothers with the departures of Duane Allman and Dicky Betts.
  15. There are plenty of good Mexican restaurants in Los Angeles, but the one I like best, especially for Oaxacan-style cuisine, is Monte Alban in Santa Monica. Not only do they do great goat (barbacoa), but their Mole Negro is the elixir of the gods. Taco de Barbacoa (Goat taco). Burrito a la Oaxaqueña Bañado con Mole (Chicken, rice, black beans, onions, peppers, salsa, avocado, smothered in mole negro).
  16. I've noticed some ads for some upcoming TV shows. The Good...http://www.smithsonianchannel.com/sc/web/series/701/aerial-america The Bad... and the Ugly...
  17. That was quite some gibberish by Mr. Greiner. Although I'm sure 'Google translate' didn't do him any favours.
  18. Except for this... When did he ever use double bass drums?
  19. Happy 70th Birthday to Jimmy Page. Looking forward to whatever delights you have in store for us in 2014. Forbes Business magazine has published two articles recently dealing with Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin. http://www.forbes.com/sites/markhendrickson/2014/01/08/what-do-bart-starr-and-jimmy-page-have-in-common/ http://www.forbes.com/sites/ruthblatt/2013/12/29/led-zeppelin-and-the-fundamental-tension-between-the-individual-and-the-team/
  20. June 25, 1977. The Forum in Inglewood, CA. Great balance between guitar and mellotron. Plant's voice is amazing and he does one of the best screams in the history of the song around the 4:20 mark. There are no muck-ups in the bridge or the coda. And Bonham plays with force throughout and goes Bonzo during the closing coda. June 21 is also great, but June 25 just pips it for overall greatness and effect.
  21. Hahaha. You know, something in my head was saying Syracuse, but then I worried I was confusing you with Rick and I know you wouldn't like that at all!
  22. I don't know Rick. Yes, I'd rather be Buffalo than the Jets but I think the Dolphins are in a good situation too, and I'd probably rather be Miami than Buffalo. Better cheerleaders, too.
  23. Andrew Bynum should be arrested for stealing money. What a joke this punk is and has been. No desire, no work ethic, no brains. Incredible to think he has two NBA titles while great competitors like Barkley and Stockton got zilch.
