  1. At last the sun is shining, the clouds of blue roll by... Even if you can't, just go alone! You're not Amish, are you? Yeah, that damn Strider...how dare he get to see it! Well, hopefully I have more success with these tickets than I did with the O2 ticket lottery.
  2. Green Bay Buffalo Cincinnati Indianapolis New Orleans Houston Oakland New England NY Giants Baltimore Washington Dallas Pittsburgh San Diego San Francisco Denver
  3. 10.12 was the date of the O2 concert...December 10, 2007. The Brits(and Euros) write their dates in the dd/mm/yr format, hence 10.12.
  4. No. Hopefully there never will be. The last thing we need is for Led Zeppelin to be reduced to Broadway kitsch ala Queen, Elton John and Billy Joel.
  5. Thought I'd do a little snooping to see if I could find any info about North American screenings. Fandango was useless, as usual, but I did find this bit of info on the movietickets.com site: http://www.movietickets.com/movie_detail.asp?movie_id=140995 A limited release on Oct. 17, 2012. Omniverse is listed as the distributing studio.
  6. You may be a big Led Zeppelin fan but you're still wrong, and since beetleron is no longer here to defend himself, I refer you to the Rosetta Stone of The Song Remains the Same information. http://www.thegardentapes.co.uk/tgt.html
  7. 12.10.07 O2 Arena, London Listening again to this, and I've gotta say that I don't think "Dazed and Confused" is as big a trainwreck at the end of the solo as some people claim. I don't think it needs to be fixed at all...I hope Jimmy leaves it alone. It sort of adds to the spookiness of the piece. The song is called Dazed and Confused after all. One thing that stands out about "Stairway to Heaven" to me is how much better it sounds with Robert singing close to the original melody line and sticking with just a few restrained "and it makes me wonder" at the end of the verses. In the old days, I found some of his performances on "Stairway" overwrought, with too much screeching. I think the song works better with a 'less is more' vocal approach...save the big voice for the end. So it is refreshing to hear "Stairway" the way it was performed at the O2.
  8. Not to someone who is already bitching about the title.
  9. ^^^ If the W there is anything like the W here, I sympathize ebk...nothing but douchebags and ho's. Angels lose AGAIN! Swept by the A's. The whole season is like one step forward, two steps back.
  10. ^^^ That's great, V...I love it when they have great accents. I generally have always preferred to read a book myself, but I learned the benefits of audiobooks when I first heard Peter Dennis' readings of "Winnie-the-Pooh" back in the 1990s. Absolutely brilliant. A great talent....sadly passed away; I urge you to seek out any audiobook read by him. What made me happy today was when I got back into L.A. tonight after a week away, my friend took me to a belated birthday dinner at Lawry's Prime Rib. Mmmmmmm.
  11. No, I don't consider 'concept albums' the same as rock operas. So, "Dark Side of the Moon" or "2112" don't meet with the same opprobrium that rock operas do.
  12. In case you missed it, the rules of the Kennedy Honors make it MANDATORY that all recipients have to appear(with the exception of death, of course), so Robert, Jimmy, Jones, and some representative of the Bonham family WILL BE THERE.
  13. Here here! I 100% totally agree with you, BUCK EYE! 2012 has been London's year...no doubt about it!
  14. What do you think? Think about what you just asked...and really think about it. Does that even make any sense, fiscally or otherwise, that they would just release it on a few screens and not put out a dvd?
  15. Trampled Underfoot from 12.10.07 is slaying my ears right now!
  16. Touché. Now I've gotta get ahold of that Vitajex Jingle...I will not rest.
  17. 1969: Either Jan. 10, 1969 San Francisco or the 1969 Super Show(even though the video is edited, it still smokes...love Jimmy's tone with the Dragon Tele and WEM amp combo). 1970: Jan. 9, 1970 RAH 1971:Sept. 29, 1971 Osaka, Japan 1972: June 25, 1972: LA Forum 1973: March 24, 1973 Offenburg 1975: March 12, 1975 Long Beach Arena
  18. They had U.S. screenings in 2003...again in 2007-08...so I'm sure the U.S. will get screenings for this, too.
  19. Are you for real? Be gone, blasphemer!
  20. My vacation is over and I'm on that long train ride back home. Just listened to the O2 rehearsals and now I'm listening to the actual Dec. 10 2007 concert. As good as the boot sounds, the official release will be a mindblower! Can't wait to hear Jimmy's bow solo and the theremin in 5.1 sound! And "Kashmir" and "No Quarter" will be seismic!
  21. Holy shit! HE lives! Where ya been, man?
  22. That would be nice...but this ain't the Grammys or the R n R Hall of Fame. There's a certain protocol that must be observed, especially with POTUS involved. Sorry if this bums you out, but perhaps they'll do a secret club gig in the area...maybe get together with Buddy Guy and jam.
