  1. BUMP!!!! I've got a million favourites but I managed to narrow it down to three! Whew! It certainly took a while! 1. Are You Experienced? - The Jimi Hendrix Experience 2. Disraeli Gears - Cream 3. Blind Faith - Blind Faith
  2. BUMP!!!!! Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin Queen II - Queen Abbey Road - The Beatles
  3. Poor old Jonesy! I guess Robert and Jimmy in particular thought of him as "the quiet, faithful and dependable one and possibly sidey!". I really do love the fact that Jonesy has been faithful to his wife for all these years. He is a hero in my book for not ummm..."giving in to temptation!". And I don't blame him for considering quitting the band! I guess Robert and Jimmy sometimes proved to be way too wild for poor old Jonesy's taste! Marriage is something sacred and it's for keeps. If you can't stay faithful then don't commit! I think Robert and Jimmy can learn A LOT from Jonesy! Magic, I used to be painfully shy too as a child. I am a bit of an introvert but I see nothing wrong with that (but once you get to really know me, I can be a bit of a clown)! In school, I have been at the receiving end of such sharp criticism as early as the 2nd grade for not properly "interracting" in class. The talkative ones always used to be the ones who were taken seriously. One teacher even went so far as to force me to take part in a "suprise" speech contest in front of the whole class and even had a good laugh at my expense! Mind you, this was in the fourth grade. The teachers have even complained to my parents saying such hurtful things like "I think your daughter may have a psychological problem and should visit the School counsellor immediately! She sadly, suffers from an inferiority complex!". My mom pretty much had a lot of faith in me (that's why I love her so much), telling me not to worry and that I will soon blossom out! And might I add, some of the so-called talkative ones who used to dominate and be classified as intelligent and outgoing, ended up failing in the 7th form exams! Ha! That's why in life, one should never, ever underestimate a shy person! And you're absolutely right! It's the shy people who have got the most interesting things to say. Afterall, empty vessels make the most noise! Also, Tim Sebastian (I love HARDTALK, btw), who happens to be one of my favourite journalists, used to be shy in school too. I even read somewhere that he even had a stutter while in school! But look how his life turned out in the end! Shy people always triumph no matter what! Another person who I think resembles Jonesy is Brian May! He is such a dignified and intelligent man! The only member of Queen who holds a PhD! Oh and I forgot about poor old John Deacon! I like these two blokes better than Freddie and Roger, to be honest!
  4. Real Groovy is such a good music store here in NZ. They not only sell CDs and Vinyls but also second hand CDs and Vinyls (dirt cheap), turntables, merchandise like t-shirts (yep! there are quite a few Zep t-shirts! Been having my eye on some of them for a while now), DVDs, games and sometimes even music instruments! It's pretty much a one stop shop! Sometimes I do find the prices a bit too expensive for my taste (especially in the case of CDs outsourced from the US and Europe), so I settle for an itunes download or go and look for a CD at the nearby super-market or go to online stores like "The Mighty Ape"! Sheesh! I wish that Real Groovy begins having a "record store day". It seems to be such a nice concept! Hope NZ catches up soon!
  5. Well, it's been a long time since I last rocked out to Radio Moscow! LOL! Brilliant Stuff!
  6. I absolutely love that concert poster!!! Especially with the part "Three Hours of Lunacy". That cracked me up!
  7. Well, I can think of quite a few Garage rock bands in the 60's who were "one hit wonders" But "The Treytones" definitely come to mind! Obscure stuff, that's for sure! And well, "The Yellow Payges" had just 2 hits : "The Two of Us" and "Never Put Away My Love For You". I don't think many folks have heard of them! And then we have the band "4 Non Blondes" who to my knowledge had just one hit song "What's Up". It was a childhood fav of mine! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwCt0YQPn7g EDITED TO ADD : A very interesting thread indeed! Thanks for bring it back to life Jahfin!
  8. LOL! Good one Fortuna! And ummm...how about some "Lemon" juice to wash it down?
  9. As far as the current rock 'n' roll scene is concerned, this is by far my favourite wah-wah pedal tune! I love Radio Moscow!
  10. Well, my choice will definitely suprise many. It is John Paul Jones! Because, I can relate to him...you know? He seems to have this really quiet and dignified air about him! My personality in real life is exactly like his! Among my peer groups, I am practically known as "the quiet one". I am one of the shyest people, you will ever meet in your life!
  11. Well, last night, before hitting the sack, I watched an episode of : Nothing like classic Britishh comedy to keep you in splits!
  12. LOL! Me too! All the albums are in cassette form though! It's all my mom's fault! I swear! She made me buy it and listen to it because those are some of her favourite artists from her youth! Oh boy! *Sigh!
  13. I just realised that I have collected quite a bit of junk while in my pre-teens and teens : 1. Everything Changes - Take That 2. Mouth To Mouth - Lipps Inc. (I do love a bit of disco but I have absolutely no idea what I was thinking! ) 3. Baby One More Time - Britney Spears 4. Steps - Step One 5. Coast To Coast - Westlife Thank goodness it's all in cassette form! I am definitely going to try and auction it all off on the website trademe.co.nz! Sheesh! I know this is about recent lame purchases but I just couldn't help myself!
  14. This song is a work of art, IMHO! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rEBz--bWVY
  15. Hi Magic! Listen, I know your birthday was ages ago but I do hope that you can accept this little gift from me http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss38/mix111com/HappyBirthday57.gif

Sorry but I just can't help myself sometimes! Hope this brightens up your day! :D

  16. Hey! :D Since, it's already the 27th of October here in NZ, here's wishing you a very happy birthday! Hope you have a rockin' time!! :D And BTW, I miss your posts around here! :( I truly hope you can come back soon! Cheers! :D

  17. Well, I see some excellent choices here especially "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)", "Presence of The Lord", "Dazed And Confused" and "Broke Down". Now, adding to the list of the best wah-wah pedal tracks, here is my personal fav : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rEBz--bWVY This song is amazing, wah-wah pedal or not! One of the most beautiful tunes I have ever heard in my life! God Bless Jimi Hendrix!!! EDITED TO ADD : I truly cannot believe no one even thought of posting this beauty! I guess this tune is rather overlooked!
  18. Here's one more by Blind Faith which is simply too beautiful for words! Steve Winwood's voice is just gorgeous!
  19. Why thank you Magic! OMG! Magic, that is such a beautiful song you posted there! I actually heard that song for the first time in the film "Look Who's Talking Too" (the one with John Travolta and Kristie Alley). The lines like "I didn't mean to hurt you", "I'm sorry that I made you cry" always get me! Gosh! I didn't even know John Lennon had sung that!!! Gosh! Now I feel even sadder that he died so tragically all those years ago! As they say, only the good die young!
  20. Well, I seriously should have put a little disclaimer here about Asteroid's album II, which would have been something like this : WARNING : The album II is extremely addictive and you will end up listening to it non-stop if you are not careful! I started this thread to pretty much expose the members on this very forum to the magic of Asteroid! Glad you are "feelin' it" too Emily! And when I discover underrated bands like these, I pretty much sit in my room with an extremely smug smile on my face and think to myself, damn! I've struck gold!
  21. Hi tom! Well, I have heard of that genre but I don't know much about it though! Is it any good?
  22. Awww...Magic! I feel the exact same way about Jonesy too! And my personality resembles his too...I am pretty much one of the shyest people you will ever meet in your life! And as far as marrying one of the members of Zep is concerned, Jonesy has ALWAYS been on my mind! Robert and Jimmy are gorgeous but are just a bit too ummm wild for my taste! I would want my husband (if at all I ever consider marriage ) to have this sort of calming influence on me! Oh dear! I am just lost in a world of my own, dreaming about Jonesy! Whoops! Sorry about that! And I do agree with you about Jonesy aging well! Even at his age, he looks so dignified! A real gentleman for sure!
