  1. Did I stump you Steve on my 1973 Spectrum question? Could history have been made.
  2. 3. Hey Steve, Zeppelin's itneary for the US '73 tour dates show that they were supposed to play the Spectrum in Philadelphia on 7/19. The show never happened. Do you know why?
  4. The Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA Zeppelin played here multiple times (1969,'70, '72, , &'75...'73 is listed on that tour's itinerary but I don't think it happened). They closed the arena last year after a batch of Pearl Jam concerts. I was lucky enough to attend one of those shows. The Spectrum brings back a bunch of great memories including the Flyers, the Sixers, WWF Wrestling, and many concerts including Ozzy, The Cure, Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, Neil Diamond, Yes, and of course, Robert Plant. THIS PLACE HAD LEGENDARY ACOUSTICS. I loved the sound there. Roger Waters wrote "Comfortably Numb" due to a bad reaction from pain meds there in 1977. They opened the Spectrum to the public one last time last fall so you could tour the place. They even setup the concert stage all the great bands including Zeppelin played. Here's some shots I took. The XXX is where the lead guitarist normally stood so knowing Jimmy stood in that area was awesome. Enjoy:
  5. What video was that some company in LA owns that Jimmy refused to pay for when they asked for a shit load of money? Bath '70?
  6. Hey Steve, Putting aside the '77 Houston show, what do you think is the most hoarded show out there (film/video or tape/reel/cassette, etc.). I love the rumors on this stuff!
  7. Thanks!!!

  8. I love them but I always thought the lead singer sounds like Kermit the Frog in certain songs.
  9. Well it's kinda hard to understand what you are saying underneath that metal helmet.
  10. I saw Jason during his INOTF Tour in a small club in Canoga Park, CA (The Rock...I think it's gone now ). They played a full show and I got to chat with Jason for awhile afterwards. I gave him a bootleg cassette from Japan that had one of my favorite Moby Dick versions. Very nice guy, and he genuinely seemed happy to see the respect that I and the rest of the Led Heads there showed for his dad. It was obvious he was drinking a lot at that time period though (since he reeked like booze and seemed pretty wasted). I also saw him at the Rainbow Room one night drinking by himself. It was kinda sad to see that. I felt like going over and giving him a hug. That could have a lot to do with his "poor attitude" mentioned before by Rock Historian. He's sober now, in great shape, and ready to rock. Nothing wrong with this imo. I'll be going. Rather seem him do this than the scores of Zep Tribute bands that come this way. P.S. I also him open up for the Cult in Alabama (The Disregard of Timekeeping tour) and, of course, the O2 show.
  11. First off, Jason is in great shape now (300 lbs. ???) and second of all, it kills that the only man I truly idolize, Jimmy, is so friendly with a creep like Ross. Again, just because he takes pictures of stars doesn't make him one. Plus, he seems so jealous of any other rock star photographer mentioned in the news.
  12. http://www.jblze.com/ Not sure if anyone posted this (too lazy to go back and look )
  13. I'm very happy and very proud of my Philadelphia Flyers tonight. They came back form being down three games to none AND to boot, they were down 3-0 in tonight's game. They came back to win 4-3 and make history. Only three other teams in ALL SPORTS have come back from being down three games to win a series. We still have a long way to go but LET'S GO FLYERS!!!
  14. A Zeppelin movie would suck. The only way it would be interesting if they went the whole "sold their souls to Satan for success" route and we all know they would be against that. Also, they seem a little sensitive about their drug use which I think would be another item producers of the film would want to go into. Without the seedy items, the movie would be boring to most people (not to us Zep-freaks though ). Honestly, after the way Hollywood screws up 99.9% of the movies they put out, a Zep movie would nothing more then a big cluster-fuck. Now a REAL documentary endorsed by the band would be very interesting imo.
  15. Plus, Animals has some of Dave's best guitar work.
  16. I'm going to the Nov. 8 show in Philly!
  17. Whatever you hear, it's all good to me.
  18. THE ARGUMENT IS SETTLED. The Wolfman went in and did some quick editing. I played the line and then just the word he says.I repeated the sequence just for good measure. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsTblsN-PNY Alas, I kneel down. The word Robert says is...... GENTLE It was just they way he says it. I still like "devil" better because it was a sign of the times (and it's what I've been hearing in my mind since the late 80's ). Plus, you can't help but think of Faust during Jimmy's bow solo. Creepy the first time you hear it (esp. baked).
  19. I love how he picks the strings at 6:37.
  20. No, I don't have hearing issue. Right or wrong, others have claimed to hear it also so I can't be too nuts. It's not a big deal people. Jeez.
  21. BTW, Philly fans need to go to Comcasttix.com instead of TM or LN for the Wachovia shows.
