With services like Spotify, I suspect music will be going the same way as movies in the future, to a totally streaming service. I'm not a member but from what I understand, once you sign up you can have music sent to any device that has an internet connection.

Are you referring to music movies? That's the only reason I can think of that you'd want to buy music on DVD unless you're referring to audio DVDs with surround sound. From what I understand, the next big thing (which is already happening) will be streaming movies online which completely eliminates the need for discs (whether they be DVDs or Blu-Ray) altogether.

I've seen the same thing here. The folks that are so quick to condemn the 80s blame it on the music that was popularized by MTV yet they're the very same ones that get misty eyed about when MTV was "good" back in the 80s.

Before renting this I had a very hard time remembering if I'd seen it before. Since the Die Hard movies all follow pretty much the same formula it was hard to tell from the description on the box. Thankfully, it was one I hadn't seen. Lots of edge of your seat stuff here but they ratcheted up the action so much towards the end that the final sequence felt almost anti-climatic. Still, a great movie, especially if you're a fan of the previous Die Hard flicks and like action movies in general.

I missed the opening act (which I believe was Joan Jett & the Blackhearts) at the show I saw at the Dean Dome in Chapel Hill due to a couple of party poopers who didn't even want to be there. One of them also caused me to miss the last portion of the show when Plant broke out some Zep because they insisted upon leaving early.

Arlo's cover of it has definitely received more airplay. I guess it's one of those cases where the original version isn't as well known even though Steve Goodman has always been well regarded as a songwriter. He also wrote "You Never Even Call Me By My Name" (with John Prine, who refused a songwriting credit at the time) even though most people associate it David Allan Coe.

CB radios still come in handy for long distance road trips. Sometimes just for info like where the "smokeys" are lurking and traffic tie-ups but mostly just to listen to the truckers jabber. Very entertaining.

Flashback to a simpler time (though CB radios are still in use). Though I can't say I recall there being a fuss over CB radio usage back in their heyday in the 70s. At least not like there is now over cellphones. Understandable since cellphones require much more of your attention (particularly when texting) than operating a CB radio ever did.

Nor do I but the imminent danger is obviously a huge part of the appeal. They're not called "extreme" sports for nothing. It definitely makes for more compelling viewing than traditional sports. One of the hairiest things I was ever witness to was the street luge in the early years of the X Games.
