Not exactly forgotten but I get the impression that it doesn't get played on "Classic Rock" radio stations nearly as much as it did during the heyday of AOR.

The Doc Watson Symposium and tribute concert is this coming weekend at the Museum of Art in Raleigh. The concert was originally supposed to be headlined by Doc himself but has since turned into a tribute to him from his peers. Raleigh News and Observer music writer David Menconi talks a bit about that as well as opening up the floor to some of Doc's friends so they can share their thoughts on him in this article. According to Wiki they toured with the likes of Judas Priest, Whitesnake, UFO, Nazareth and Blackfoot. Sounds like their were poised for success but due to circumstances beyond their control they were sidelined by legal battles with their label for a couple of years after the label collapsed. Reminds me a bit of the story of Anvil.

As long as there's a Page, Plant and Jones there are always going to be reunion rumors. I don't think there's a thing at all the matter with that as it comes with the territory. However, the downside are those that feel like they're owed something from the surviving members of Zeppelin. That, I'll never get. They gave their all and lost their dear friend and bandmate John Bonham. The fact that there's even been any reunions since his passing is nothing short of miraculous but there will always be those that want more.

Thing is, it did happen. That may well be the only time they ever do it but for some it just wasn't enough and never will be.

This EP is only available on vinyl but is well worth the hunt.
