  1. Considering there's nothing but women posting in both of those threads (other than your no longer closeted self) I have to ask, what do you think it meant?
  2. No, didn't. By the way, this is coming from the person that's been posting photos of Page and Plant to their respective "Hot Pics" threads. Shouldn't you be posting in the Beautiful Men thread instead of this one? I guess it's possible that you swing both ways which would actually explain a whole lot now that I think about it.
  3. I would imagine that it could be hard for someone to get an accurate read on Wilco that is unfamiliar with them because their sound has varied so much over the years. Cool that you gave them a shot and even cooler that you liked what you heard. I love their records but seeing them live is really where it's at.
  4. He apparently has the hots for Plant too. Who knew?
  5. Stairway, I had no idea you played for the other team. Learn something new everyday.
  6. I think you'd have some major competition with that, particularly from TheStairwayRemainsTheSame, perhaps the only male on the board that has posted photos in the Hot Pics of Jimmy thread.
  7. Those are the people I was directing that comment towards, not you. In other words, I was agreeing with you. Sometimes, even if I think I'm making myself as clear as possible, my comments are still misinterpreted. One of the many downfalls of trying to communicate via the internet.
  8. 90 second preview of "Blood and Fire" from the upcoming Van Halen record.
  9. The YouTube description for this video reads: "Dawned On Me" from Wilco's Grammy-nominated new record The Whole Love. This collaboration with King Features presents the first hand-drawn Popeye cartoon in more than 30 years. Directed by Darren Romanelli.
  10. I think one of the greatest things about The Tree of Life is that everyone I've talked to who's seen it has gotten something completely different out of it. There were some people that left the theatre during screenings to people that absolutely loved it (like myself).
  11. Thanks for the report and photos. I have heard of White Denim but I haven't heard any of their music. As for Wilco being referred to as "alt.country", sure they touch on that sound in concert but for the most part they haven't sounded like an alt.country (whatever that is) band in quite some time. Even their early records like A.M. and Being There weren't strictly alt.country and had hints of other influences. Not to mention just how hard it is to define "alt.country" anyway.
  12. You might want to try their website, the lineup of the current band is listed there.
  13. Lots to choose from this week (including Donna the Buffalo on Thursday and the Old 97s with Those Darlins on Friday) but I'll most likely pass on those two for Local Band/Local Beer on Thursday and Megafaun w/ Mount Moriah on Saturday. Kathleen Edwards will be in town early next week as well. I've been wanting to see her for years so I'm not going to pass up the opportunity this time.
  14. I love it myself. I can't remember all of the details but I think there was some editing done so perhaps it's not the complete performance. Thanks for the heads up, that's one of the archival releases that I don't have. Same for Dreamin' Man Live '92 which, I believe, is supposed to be part of the next set of archives from Neil. Like I said, I don't really know anything about the technical aspects of those releases. Perhaps someone here with more knowledge in that area can assist you. Oftentimes, when I tell people that I worked in radio, they seem to think I worked on radios, which is not the case. I was an announcer and played records. I have little to no knowledge of amps, speakers, etc., when it comes to specs and that sort of thing. This place is crawling with gearheads so I suspect one of them ought to be able to help answer your question.
  15. On the occasion of Robin Zander's birthday today. An old promo clip for the Dream Police album.
  16. Bon Joviver, that crossroads in hell where Bon Jovi and Bon Iver meet.
  17. I can't speak to the technical aspects of that Neil box set but I will say that I still haven't picked it up. Mainly because it didn't exactly include the abundance of rare material he'd promised. However, I did buy the separate archival releases such as the Fillmore and Massey Hall sets. Another reason not to buy the complete box.
