  1. I am constantly amazed at the care and effort the people on this forum put forth creatively and share. 'tis a beautiful thing. I listened to my ITTOD LP last night while cleaning out the truck (a new year's resolution) and I kept going back to the sleeve and packaging. What a unique release. I have to admit I replayed the intro to ITE several times.
  2. I enjoyed her and Justin Timberlake on SNL
  3. "It's not about what I do for my kids, it's about what I teach them to do for themselves. My life is but a whisper and it's gone." - My Mom
  4. Salad Dressing- not for the weak or unadventurous 3 tbsp 1st press olive oil 3 tbsp red-wine vinegar 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar 1 tsp country Dijon mustard 1 tsp mustard powder 1 small garlic clove, minced 1 tsp key lemon juice 1 pad of country butter 1 tsp bacon crsipy bits Coarse salt and ground pepper Pinches cayenne pepper on low heat, toast in a pan the garlic bits, butter, bacon bits while whisking the other ingredients together. Slow whisking works best adding one ingredient at a time. Add in the garlic etc and rewhisk. Salt/pepper to taste, cayenne to taste. Don't over toast the garlic, just get the edges crunchy. 5 minutes max and its amazing.
  5. I was at the 6/29 show... still not quite sure what I saw, not sure if I enjoyed it altogether. Was confused during the show- left the show really confused. Went with a friend who was a room mate in college, we really enjoyed LZ when we were so young at school. I always planned on seeing them again though 'cept the back spasms cancelled out the dates. Remembering the conversation afterwards it focused on "they need to tour with a new album of their own music."
  6. You sir are correct and Rover may be correct. As you know, the A/V for The Summit (cutting edge and lavish at the time) was incorporated into the structure of the building via crop outs and use of the catwalk assemblies: CCTV1, CCTV2 and A/V for the sports enterprises who leased The Summit. All three stand alone from TV International and whomever else were contracted at the time. Springsteen's '78 concert video was pulled directly from an inhouse feed supplemented by two contracted additional cameras plugged into the house A/V deck.
  7. what she was saying is she remembers "preparations being made" for NOLA in addition to the others as a part of the mega promotions that Graham had planned. Then it all went kaput. I have no info on the Pontiac soundboard. I have a LP boot that is the same audio as the one in wide circulation although it is less muddy. It came from Japan in '82- no artwork, no sleeve- I suspect it was RoIO via Clint Heylin or Swinging Pig.
  8. I was told by a production team staffer in the '80s that the whereabouts of a vault of materials were known only by Lew Grade. The same staffer said he remembers preparation for the '77 shows at Atlanta, Houston, Seattle, Tempe, OC/ACC & New Orleans to be pro-shot at least in part for promo work- while Seattle, Houston and Pontiac being done completely. He also went on to comment that promo plans cratered by Graham due to the goings on at different arenas during the tour, namely OC/ACC. Houston will show up at some point- the rest (if they still exist) hope against hope.
  9. I took it to my neighbors and it glitches before NQ... he has a Panasonic 2010 model and has not updated the firmware to the current version available
  10. no glitch here Sony 3D BluRay here, played it on the PS3- no glitch. On the laptop- no glitch.
  11. if anyone has not seen these of SOL... additionally, Stuart Epps is still doing fantastic work
  12. I saw this quote and took it to be the author inserting a paraphrase rather than quoting Page precisely
  13. Exactly where I am. Jimmy left in a crap ton of honesty in that I would have been fanatical about fixing. Glad Page took the approach he did.
  14. you are welcome fdm12 from my vantage point Clapton was not a douche although he did seem to take on the role of conductor (he was blunt and direct) and the one to get things together and push it through. He was chatty and chummy- when it was time to get to work he made sure it was sharp and everyone was in place. At the Dallas show- from what I saw, Clapton was the 3rd best guitarist on the platform and about the 5th best vocalist and it showed. Clapton played well, sang well and led well as always. When Beck was introduced everyone forgot about Clapton. When Page was introduced the event started. When Page's Danelecro was brought out... the air had goosebumps. When the doubleneck came out... it was surreal. Time flashed back and time stood still all at once. From then on- it was Page's platform to share with others. Maybe this was a bit much for Clapton to yield to without a being a little crabby and feelings of being sleighted. Not my place to say, just the vibe he seemed to give off. The finale with Cocker was unbelieveably good. Solid top to bottom and I have yet to see anyone connect with a lyric and deliver it any better than Cocker did that night. That man wanted to be there and his heart was pouring out for Ronnie Lane. Paul Rogers sang his butt off with Jimmy and during the finale his backing vocals are the best I have ever heard.
  15. several friends and I set up chairs at Reunion Arena for this concert and were present during pre-check and sound check. Page sat at a table on platform stage left with Clapton, was emotional and demonstratively edgy- Page would repeatedly stand up and sit down, a great deal of hand and arm gesturing while in conversation with Clapton. Page was being urged to do lead during a couple of songs and Clapton told him that it was going to happen- that "the spotlight will find you and to play." Page pushed back at not being comfortable with it, Clapton smiled a lot and didn't budge. "You came here to play so play my friend. I want to hear you play." The banter went back and forth for at least 5 minutes. During the show before the first encore it happened again. Clapton told him it was going to happen. Page backed out during Layla- just played the riff only. Passed on the solo. Jimmy did a total of maybe 45 secs sound check, his tech did the rest. During the concert I thought he was amazing and Jeff Beck & Eric Clapton did a great deal to encourage him during the show. Looks, comments and body language was just- go !!! Page's sound was terrific and the sound man did him right in the mix too. Tulsa Time was the best of the night for lead work, the STH was a little creepy seeing no Bonzo, Jone or Plant. Gotta say that seeing and hearing Clapton and Beck play lead underneath Jimmy's lead work was greatness.
  16. Rain Song No Quarter Click the link and listen =====> https://soundcloud.c...-and-no-quarter FLAC from 200g LP I agree with woz70 that the mix on ITTOD is wonky by design and necessity, drums isolated in a tupperware and panel box, guitar same and noisy... ***SOUNDCLOUD*** is blocking this upload. I have sent them a variance request.
  17. 'tis possible- just put it on my to do list. I will flac them this weekend from the audiophile LPs and check it out... haven't tore open the hermetic seal in about 20 years on HTH and Presence. I am interested to hear how they compare to "I'm Gonna Crawl" since I consider the quality to be above exceptional. Thank you for the suggestion Elderer and glad you enjoyed it.
