  1. The thread title says in nice big bold dark letters DEC 26th..
  2. I didn't know. I just programmed my DVR. Thank you.
  3. That stinks. It's not fair of your Manager to stick you with this. She could have sent an email to everyone from home. I would imagine she can get into the network from home or wherever she is... Just tell it like it is. They'll know where it's coming from.
  4. They're not really my thing. But I definately respect the "no 2 nights are the same" approach that they lived by. You might catch them on an incredible night or a horrible night but... no 2 nights were ever the same. I've only bought 1 album by them.. "Anthem Of The Sun" but I loved it. A friend played it for me and I went out and bought it the next day.. Nothing quite like it in their catalog or anyone else's for that matter. Grate at what they did... and like ledzepfvr said...very different than Zeppelin.
  5. He also recorded Prelude for Death Wish 2. It's also on the soundtrack.
  6. funny little bit of trivia Scott the Engineer, The sad sack, Bowling fanatic from the Howard Stern show, recently said that he had a band when he was a kid and it was called Black Sabbath. They had to change the name when he realized there was another Black Sabbath from England... Funny.. I was in a band in 1987 that was called Nirvana.... small world. p.s. good list thezepguy.. we're pretty much on the same page. Agree - Rolling Stones: Sticky Fingers (Close second: Let It Bleed) Agree - Van Halen: Van Halen I'll take your word for it - Dylan: Blonde On Blonde (close second: Bring It All Back Home) Agree or Close to The Edge - Yes: Fragile Agree - The Who: Who's Next Great one but Scary Monsters by a hair - Bowie: Low Agree - Sex Pistols: Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols Sandinista - Clash: London Calling (Close second: Give 'Em Enough Rope) Made in Japan - Deep Purple: Deep Purple III (Close second: Machine Head) Agree - Genesis: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Agree - Jimi Hendrix: Are You Experienced? (Close second: Electric Ladyland) Agree - Guns n Roses: Appetite For Destruction Great one but I'd vote for Brain Salad Surgery- ELP: Emerson Lake & Palmer (Close second: Pictures at an Exhibition)
  7. The song Black Sabbath had to do with the vision Geezer Butler saw at the foot of his bed. He says Ozzy Osbourne gave him this old creepy book and that night Geezer saw the shape and the next morning the book was gone.. This story really had nothing to do with the song title Black Sabbath. The name was inspred by the Boris Karloff movie which was playing at the theater across the street from where the band was rehearsing. Like you said, they also saw something.. a Ghost when they were recording Sabbath Bloody Sabbath in a castle. but even still why would that make you not like the band?
  8. Man on the Moon. I DVR'd it earlier today.. I watched it once years ago. Andy Kaufman was so far ahead of his time.. He was such a unique performance artist. Jim Carey really pulled it off too.
  9. Not in the least bit stupid.. Happy to answer. He signed the artwork. the paper insert, with a black sharpie. I had the artwork out of the jewel case and just handed that to him.
  10. Todd Rundgren W/Ethel Tuesday 10/23, Keene State College, Keene NH, (my oldest Daughter is a student there). Ethel is an incredible 4 pc string ensemble.. They started the show with a short 4 song set (which included a very cool verson of Kashmir.) After this, Todd Rundgren played a little 4 song set of his own.. This man is a genius, plain and simple. After a short break to change around the stage setup, they all played together for quite a while. Amazing show. There was a meet and greet after the concert. He's a very cool, down to earth guy. I've been a Todd Rundgren fan for years, I'm not a big autograph hound by any means, but I had him sign a couple of my cd's. Highly recommended if they come by your area.
  11. Thank you for digging that up hecube.. very interesting, It sounds like Dave Grohl was inviting Jimmy and JPJ to record with Foo Fighters at some point.. which really has nothing to do with Them Crooked Vultures.. But if Jimmy was upset about them forming TCV without hm.. I don't feel bad for him. Jimmy has about as much right to be upset about this as Taylor Hawkins would.. and he should have treated John Paul better in 1994. Maybe Jimmy could form a band with Taylor. I never even thought for a second it had anything to do with Jimmy.. They were playing with Jason. and I don't think JPJ went behind anyone's back.. Grohl talked about wanting to put a band together with Josh Homme and JPJ as far back as 2005.
  12. I've also recently heard that Foo Fighters are taking an extended break.. Dave Grohl is most likely clearing his calender for TCV2. edit ... of course I didn't see Walter's post. Sorry Walter. Sounds like something is brewing.
  13. Thank you Z-o-S-o for clarifying.. re read my post. I realized I didn't answer your last and I agree most important question. I did answer after.
  14. Look it up. 3 milllion Polish Christians were slaughtered by the Nazis, plus another 4 million. When you lump a group together by their Nationality or Religion, ie "Christians" and assume we all think and do the same things, you are being racist... or at least extremely ignorant. Sorry. I missed replying to your last point.. I never said Christian crimes were less evil.. far from it. There's good and bad everywhere... in all walks of life. There have been horrible things done in the name of Christ.. Those matyrs completely missed the boat and didn't follow His teachings at all.. Your "time to burn Christians" comment was uncalled for.
  15. Tell that to the 7 Million Christians slaughtered by the Nazis... yes Christians. While you're at it tell the 1 million plus Armenian Christians murdered by the Turks. My Wife's Grandparents had to flee Turkey because they were Greek Orthodox Christians. They had to leave everything they owned behind. Do your homework before you make such broad sterotypical racist statements. You can't paint any group of people with one brush. I don't agree with Victor Dictor at all. But at least he's been respectful.
  16. As far as having an impact on society, I agree they've done more than most. But so didn't Abraham Lincoln, Fonzie and Mozart and I don't consider them to be God's either. Their music will live on hopefully forever...that doesn't make them God's We all leave something that changes the world for the better or worse, No matter how big or smalll an impact, it's still an impact. We all change the world a little everyday .... by helping that little old lady cross the road or flipping off the driver that pissed you off.. that doesn't make us God's either.
  17. Good point and I've learned over the years to never expect anything. Ever since Jimmy Page talked up a double album in 1978 dealing with the 4 seasons, chock full of incredible guitar synth work and we got In Through The Out Door, I've learned to take what he says with a grain of salt.. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's making this stuff up. It just doesn't quite pan out for whatever reason.
  18. +1 All 4 were and are all brilliant Musicians. They are my favorite rock band of all time. But they're mortal human beings..... just like you and me. Not Gods
