Well that's cool Ace. The only opinion i was trying to change was that KISS was another Monkees manufactured type thing.. They were very real. That footage is rough ...but real.. I have nothing against The Monkees BTW.. I thank the man upstairs for giving me an open mind to like and appreciate aspects of all styles of music from Punk to Classical and everything in between. KISS to me is a warm tie to my Childhood and I make no bones about it.

Sorry but ... no you don't. KISS were a real band that had a vision and worked their asses off. Go on youtube and type in "Kiss 1974" and you will find a great underground band playing like there's no tomorrow... I don't care if they were the best players in the world or not... they were going for it . They were not a fake band... The comic books and merchandise came after ... when they were already HUGE. That's exactly how it was for me .. You had to be there at the time to really get it. I was a very impressionable 12 years old when Alive was released. Fans at the time didn't even know what they looked like. Kiss had good, catchy simple songs and an amazing stage show.. still do, but that 1st run 1974-1977 was it for me.. I would put on Alive and just stare at the album cover. Of course they cashed in and that original raw Hotter than Hell vibe gave way to Beth, Comic Books (printed in real Kiss blood) and Hard Luck Woman... I got off the bus when KISS MEETS THE PHANTOM came out..

A 5 pc lineup would be a great solution .. Wolfgang can play Drums, Bass, Keyboards and Guitar.. Who knows? Wofgang might want to branch out.. Looks like he has with some of the projects he's been doing lately.. Also, a lot of people rag on the kid unfairly.. for being fat and in Van Halen... He must be a little fed up with it. Michael Anthony could tell them to jump in a lake too... He actually gets to play his Bass in Chickenfoot .. instead of riding 8th notes on the E string all the time .. like Ed always made him do.

From Blabbermouth.. VAN HALEN will co-headline the inaugural edition of the Stone Music Festival at Sydney, Australia's ANZ Stadium over the April 20-21 weekend. A single-day ticket for the festival — which was inspired by the '70s cult biker film "Stone" — starts at AUD 179 and a weekend pass at AUD 319 and go on sale from noon on Thursday, February 21. David Lee Roth recently gave a lengthly interview to Rolling Stone and says he wants co-founding bassist Michael Anthony back in VAN HALEN — among other things. Apart from the Sydney appearance and a trio of Japanese shows in June, the band remains in a state of limbo. Last summer, VAN HALEN backed out of 31 North American dates, citing exhaustion, and then Eddie Van Halen was sidelined for four-to-six months after undergoing surgery for the inflammatory intestinal affliction diverticulitis. Roth was pretty candid in the interview about the state of the band, especially on the prospect of coming up with some new songs, explaining, "I would certainly look forward to working with Ed on some new material, but we have yet to do that. Almost all of the music that you hear on our most recent album was written and demoed before the first album. . . I'm not sure what's in Ed's mind at this point. I'm gonna guess that his plans are to write with his son, and I'm not sure where that actually leads. But truth be told, Edward and I haven't written a new song in 20 years." Roth went on to say that there is no game plan for VAN HALEN on the horizon. "There's nothing on the ticket as far as travel, and that's a disappointment, frankly," he said. "How long have I been back with the gang? Maybe six years, we'll say and we have yet to travel to Europe, South America, Japan, anywhere outside of those basic 50 cities in the United States. And again that's been a disappointment. We have an audience and we have a potential future in many, many places. . . And I don't know where the VAN HALEN future lies aside from the States. We'll always be able to play our hits — and keep in mind we have more hits than Beethoven, we have more hits than Tony Soprano — so getting onstage and playing that is glorious, and certainly getting onstage with the brothers will always be an excitement for me. But in terms of taking the music past where we found it, I'm not sure where that's going to go." Roth touched upon the touchy subject of ousted bassist Michael Anthony replacing current bassist — and Eddie Van Halen's son —Wolfgang Van Halen, from here on out. "But Ed has his own vision, I'm assuming," he said. "We haven't really been able to speak about it and it's a disappointment, just as not having a chance for a reunion of the original band. Clearly, vocals are every bit as much a component of success as a rhythm section or a guitar solo. . . what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever — that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in EARTH, WIND & FIRE, as identifiable as the high voice in the BEACH BOYS. VAN HALEN is an indelicate house blend of both — that's intentionally." He went on to say that he's pitched some ideas to help light the creative spark for the band. "So I would always look forward to that reunion, and I would always look forward to writing a whole variety of material," he said. "I've offered the fellows, come on out here to the land of the gods. And if you don't want to make it that far we'll make it halfway — Konishiki(Roth's friend and former champion sumo wrestler) has said he'll lend me his house in Hawaii, Let's go woodshed. But so far there hasn't been any response, so hope and faith are not actual tactics and strategies — they're strippers from Albuquerque During the press conference announcing their 2007 reunion dates David Lee Roth promised that VAN HALEN was truly a new band. "This is not a reunion, this is a new band," he said. "This is a revision with hits that you're so familiar with; it's as familiar as the roof of your own mouth is to you. But the ambition has nothing to do with old history. Usually when a band comes back like us it's rockers with walkers and this is everything but. Meet us in the future, not the pasture."

I love it.. some mistakes especially some of Jimmy's solos in spots, but that's live. I love his tone on some of it. The Ramble On solo is kind of odd... but I LOVE it. My main issue is that I think John Paul Jones' Bass should be mixed higher. & I don't really like Jason's background vocals on GTBT. That's about it.

Ronnie James Dio was in my opinion the most consistent hard rock / metal singer.. Robert Plant had plenty of off nights, so didn't Ian Gillan, Rob Halford, Steven Tyler ... right down the line.. Ronnie James Dio never did. He sounded as good in his mid-late 60's as he did in his 30's. I'd have to say the same thing about Sammy Hagar. I don't care much for his music, but his voice is always spot on.

Jimmy Page received sole Production credit for ITTOD. John Paul Jones in my opinion deserved at least a Co-Producer credit. He shared Production with Paul Rodgers, Robert Plant and David Coverdale..

I just finished watching Shameless.... best episode of Season 3 so far, I am now watching At Close Range.

Come on Wes. Tennis is great.. My Mother is 76 and plays Tennis 4 days a week. It keeps her going.. (that and Bridge) But you've started more threads in an average week than some of us have in 6 years.. and most of the topics are either goofy or already exist. You are all about quantity over quality. Some of your thread topics have been good... some not so great... and then you just keep plodding on with them. Do it all you want, but don't act all surprised when people get annoyed.

Frank Zappa, Todd Rundgren, Lyndsey Buckingham. all excellent Guitar Players, Songwriters and Producers.. otherwise I agree. Jimmy Page is in my opinion the best Hard Rock Producer.. certainly the most succesful. He set the standard and so far nobody has come close.

From Blabbermouth Legendary heavy metal band BLACK SABBATH has set "13" as the title of its new album. The group's first LP with Ozzy Osbourne since 1978 will be released in June via Vertigo/Universal Republic in the U.S. andVertigo in all other territories. The drum tracks on the CD were laid down by RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE sticksman Brad Wilk following original drummer Bill Ward's decision to bow out of the reunion. Osbourne, Tony Iommi (guitar) and Geezer Butler (bass) recorded the album primarily in Los Angeles with producer Rick Rubin. In advance of the CD's release, BLACK SABBATH will head to New Zealand, Australia and Japan for live performances. Additional tour plans will be revealed in the coming months. Ward in May 2012 announced again that he was declining to join his former bandmates for its scheduled 2012 dates, as well as the recording of a new album, due to a contractual dispute. He also allegedly had his lawyers direct SABBATH to remove him from photos of the band posted at the official BLACK SABBATH web site "so as to not give the public the wrong impression about his involvement in the current BLACK SABBATH lineup," according to a statement issued by the band's publicist. Butler issued a lengthy retort at his own web site, writing that Ward"hadn't told any one of us he was having contractual problems, and frankly those things are worked out between our representatives, and never between the four of us, let alone in public." Until now, Iommi told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that the members of SABBATH stayed friendly even when there were legal or other issues going on. "We've always been talking. We've always been in touch with each other," he said. "There might be a lawsuit in the thing between us, but we still talk to each other like nothing's happened, you know." Asked if there is any chance of Ward rejoining the band, Iommi said last October, "We'll always have a heart for Bill, but I think it's gone past that now, because it's gone on so long that I don't see that happening at the moment. Maybe at some point we might [play together again]." BLACK SABBATH took part in a photo shoot on November 30, 2012 with famed British photographer/artist Sam Taylor-Wood.
