  1. Thanks for sharing this with us. A few things I noticed: Robert Plant was wearing black leather pants during the interview. He was probably one of the few 50 year old men who could get away with it. Unlike many female fans, I liked Jimmy Page's shorter hair during this period. It made him look less dated. As Page & Plant grew older so did their groupies.
  2. David Coverdale isn't the only one? Who else has been on Plant's sh*t list over the years?
  3. I love the strategically placed British flag in the first photo. Not exactly subtle was he?
  4. Is it just me or has Jimmy Page been photographed a lot, even by celebrity standards? There seem to be hundreds of professional quality photos of the man floating about the internet. I assume that for every photo of him on the internet there are even more that aren't on the internet for legal reasons. That's a lot of photos. Yes, he's been a public figure for almost half a century. Yes, he is an iconic rock star. But so is Mick Jagger. I haven't seen nearly as many photos of Jagger on the internet as I have of Page. I'm sure it helped that Page was physically beautiful as a young man. But so was David Gilmour. He even worked as a model for a short time. However, there aren't nearly as many photos of the young Gilmour as there are of the young Page. Another thing I've noticed is that Page had many different "looks" when he was in his twenties. Was that another part of his attraction for photographers? They never knew which Jimmy Page they were going to get?
  5. You're probably right. Bootsy Collins has to be at least 60 years old now. The man in the photo with Robert looks much younger.
  6. Ritchie Blackmore is a great talent but everything I've read about him describes his "moody" and "difficult".
  7. The Entertainer by Scott Joplin. The ice cream trucks in my area play a version of this song as they ply their trade. Business must be good because they've made several runs up and down my street today.

    Robert's Hair

The photo of him sleeping on the plane. One point Barney Hoskyn's book makes clear is that Robert Plant was a hit with the ladies during his Birmingham days. However, things just got crazy after he joined Led Zeppelin. He had young women who would do anything just throwing themselves at him 24/7.
  9. Does anyone know who are the two other gentlemen in the bottom photo?
  10. Page once mentioned in an interview that a Los Angeles costume designer named Coco made the dragon and poppy suits. Perhaps she made the rose jacket as well.
  11. Physically, Ginger Baker looks surprisingly good when you consider the life he has led.
  12. This. He was a talented drummer and musician in his day, but he has always come across as a rather unpleasant man.
  13. Is he wearing a school blazer in this photo?
  14. Are these photos from the first Knebworth concert?
  15. Thank you Kenog for posting this. It was an interesting interview. Among other things, I didn't realize Kenneth Anger is still living. I also didn't know that Bobby Beausoleil had once been in Love nor that he recruited musicians who were also serving time in San Quentin to work on the Lucifer Rising soundtrack. I wonder if they receive royalty payments for their work on the soundtrack?
  16. The above photos are dated December 20, 1995. I didn't realize that Page and Coverdale ever worked together after 1993.
  17. The most recent episode of Project Runway on DVD.
  18. Pamela des Barres and Richard Cole have both remarked that Page used to curl his hair before gigs. He wouldn't have needed to do this if it were naturally curly. If you look at some of the photos of him in his teens and early twenties that are floating around the internet, his hair wasn't curly in them. It had a slight wave and appeared to be very thick. I'm almost certain that Page had perms from 1975-1984 and again throughout much of the 90's.
  19. I'm reminded of a magazine article in which Plant criticized some punk rock groups for their nihilism back during the mid to late 70's. He made the comment "15 year old kids like my sister". His comment would lead the reader to believe that she was younger than him. I'll see if I can find it online.
  20. Today's Dinner Menu at Chez Disco Duck: Mild Italian sausage on the grill Hobo packets with summer squash, Vidalia onions and green bell peppers Pasta salad with rotini, cherry tomatoes, black olives and mozzarella cheese cubes Iced tea plus a half bottle of Moscato left over from last weekend
