IMO, the question she should be asking herself is why she and your father didn't notice that something was bothering you back then. I know that even the most vigilant parent can't protect their children 24/7. However, the fact that you didn't go to your parents after the first assault tells me that their relationship with you wasn't all that it should have been. They failed you, imo.

There is a photo of Page with his first wife and their son at Jason Bonham's wedding floating about the internet. In it, his hair is salt-and-pepper with a white streak (a la Joe Perry) in front.

He wore some of the coolest blouses when he was in Led Zeppelin. The one in the above photo looks as if it were made to wear open. Unlike Plant, I can't go about bare-chested but I could wear that blouse over a black tank top or t-shirt.

This photo of Page reminds me of another photo I've seen but for the life of me, I can't recall who is the subject of the earlier photo. It's his pose, his expression and the way his hair falls about his shoulders.

I would add that while it's great if you and she can remain friends after you break up, you're under no obligation to do so. If being around her after the breakup is too painful, keep your distance for a while. Once she breaks up with you, you're under no obligation to put her feelings ahead of your own.

I made Laap, a Laotian meat salad for dinner. The recipe I used calls for ground pork, scallions, cilantro, fresh mint, lime juice, chili sauce and roasted rice powder. I served it wrapped in romaine lettuce leaves. I was feeling energetic this afternoon so I even made a Middle Eastern dessert called harissa. It came out well if I say so myself. Who would have thought that something made with Cream of Wheat and yogurt could be so delicious? It's just as well I have company because otherwise I might eat it all myself.

I'm having a nice Labor Day weekend. I went to a local festival with my mother, sister and niece yesterday. I'm spending today with my boyfriend and his kids. We hung out at my local swimming pool earlier today and he's cooking our dinner on my grill as I write this. We're enjoying beautiful weather in my neck of the woods as well. It's in the mid-80's with clear skies with relatively low humidity. So far it's been a nearly perfect day.

JPJ was a cutie pie back in the day. In any other band he would have been "the pretty boy". He just happened to be in the same band as Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. The ad is from 1986, 27 years ago. One thing I noticed is that the ad doesn't mention a soundproof room or outbuilding. Didn't Page have home studio when he owned it?

Maybe it's the lighting but JPJ's hair looks orange in the top photo. I'm reminded of the hair color David Bowie had during his Ziggy Stardust period.
