  1. I've read he grew up in Kidderminster, but attended secondary school in Stourbridge. I believe both towns are in Worcestershire.
  2. I can see the resemblance between Plant and his mother. Something about the shape of their faces and their eyebrows are similar.
  3. I love Plant' expression in the above photo. Does anyone know where the photo of Jimmy walking down the path was taken? It looks like someone's house.
  4. Does anyone know when and where the photo below was taken?
  5. JPJ was arranging pop music when he was still in his teens. Did anyone else notice that Peter Noone (a.k.a. Herman from Herman's Hermits) was one of the producers?
  6. IMO, rap maybe a legitimate art form but it is not music. Having said that, one very early rap song made an impression on me when I was still in grade school. It was The Revolution Will Not Be Televised by Gil Scott Heron. It showed that rap can be a powerful medium for social messages.
  7. Based on their hair styles and clothing I would guess this photo was taken around the time of the Royal Albert Hall concert.
  8. It's such an adorable photo. I've always wondered how they kept Strider from falling off the bike.
  9. It may not be as extreme as it sounds. A seventy year old woman who lived in Liverpool during the early 1960's and followed the local music scene could easily have seen the Beatles perform dozens of times before they even made it big. Afterwards, she would only need to attend one McCartney concert once a year for the next 50 years. Obviously, she wouldn't do this unless she were a fan, but she wouldn't have to be an obsessive one.
  10. Nothing wrong with polka music. I enjoy it in limited doses. I wish I could master the dance because it looks fun but I never could get the hang of it.
  11. Many posters ask about photos that are posted here. Who are the people in this photo with X? Where was it taken? Etc. CLW isn't the only poster who asks these questions.
  12. Is the above photo from TSRTS premier in London?
  13. Does anyone know when and where the top photo was taken?
  14. Did bands from that era normally make their gate receipts and figures public?
  15. Did The Man From Nazareth have lyrics that went something like: Put your hands in the hand of the man who stilled the waters, Put your hands in the hand of the man who calmed the sea. Take a look at yourself and you will look at others differently, Put your hands in the hand of the man from Galilee.
  16. I like his outfit in the top photo. However, the only men who can get away with wearing it in their forties are rock stars. Where would men's fashion be without them? More boring no doubt.
  17. They changed the background and added two men who weren't in the original photo. Why would someone do this? What was the point?
  18. I read somewhere that he was his school's hurdling champion way back when. If this is true, his very long legs probably gave him an advantage. One of my favorite film clips from Page's Yardbird days shows him wearing an embroidered jacket, ruffled shirt and blue crushed velvet pants that emphasized how long his legs were. He looked the epitome of a 1960's pop star as he played his guitar.
  19. His hair in the photo reminds me more of Brian May's trademark mane than Plant's. Only Page has bangs while I don't recall May ever wearing them. Can't you tell I've spent entirely too much time studying celeb hairstyles?
  20. Maybe I'm sick but I kinda like the look Plant is rocking in this photo. I like his haircut and tomato red shirt open to the navel. However, the red pants weren't a good idea. Black silk pants would have worked better.

    Robert's Hair

I wonder if he ever felt overwhelmed by all the female attention back then? Does anyone know who took the above photo?
  22. I read somewhere that he plays tennis a lot.
  23. My initial thought was "Plant took the high road, good for him." when the interviewer asked him about Page's collaboration with David Coverdale. Then his parting line made think, "perhaps not". He's very witty with a quick tongue and, at times, a sharp one.
