  1. Wow, great footage from a great show, thanks for posting.
  2. That's probably a big part of it, yeah, and the San Diego show (before he hurt his finger) is the best of the West Coast shows, IMO (unfortunate that no version of D&C exists). Still, he played a lot better in LA and SF in '73 than in '75 with an injured finger. (STH and CB in SF are great.) There's just something about those shows that never lived up to their epic reputation, to me. I feel like there were other shows from May that had more highlights.

  4. Oh yeah, they could do no wrong in July '73. All we need now is the first half of the 27th.
  5. The thing is, yeah, Patton's right: The Russians are generally not sympathetic, sad to say, that's how it is. But ultimately, Stalin's Soviet Union is not Putin's Russia, not by a long stretch. The fact is, they're basically right to be concerned about what goes on in Ukraine, just like the Chinese (similarly unsympathetic) are right be concerned about what goes on in Taiwan. Neither situation affects what happens in America (or Western Europe, for that matter), so why are we so agitated? We have other problems to deal with.
  6. It's the last third of the show, I think Dazed, Stairway, Heartbreaker, and WLL (with Going Down and other ad libs you don't hear a lot) are all fantastic, some of the best versions of the tour to me. To be honest, I kind of think the next night (the 13th, a great audience tape surfaced about two months after I posted the list you reference) is even better, at least the first two thirds of the show. RnR, Celebration Day, SIBLY, TSRTS/RS and , NQ and are all great (NQ unfortunately has a cut in the middle when the taper switched cassettes, I guess). Dazed from the 13th is out of this world, probably better than the previous night. (Stairway through WLL are all great, but not as good as the 12th). Plus this audience show now has a complete version of Dancing Days (the only version from the NA tour, there'd been a soundboard fragment for a long time). Definitely check out the 13th, the two Detroit shows are to me the greatest stretch from the great month of July '73.
  7. Absolutely, it's like a Baphomet optical illusion:
  8. Even the MSM is going into CYA mode and effectively admitting that this has all been a sham, that Ukraine is losing badly and a deal needs to be cut: MoA - Ukraine Bits: No Ammo, More Casualties, Thin Lines, Propaganda And Passing The Buck (moonofalabama.org) Still, some factions of the US/UK Deep State are prepared to fight to the last Ukrainian. How heroic!
  9. I'm always amused that Plant used a technical term ("gastroenteritis") rather than just saying "food poisoning". Maybe Grant, after consulting with the tour doctor, gave him an impressive-sounding medical term in the hopes of placating the crowd.

  11. Speaking of Shrek, this classic Eddie Murphy movie sums up where global finance capital is headed: Buy, Vlad, buy!
  12. More cracks in the foundation (better send in Shrek, maybe that cat with the sword too, Pussy Boots or whatever the hell his name is): Ukraine Foreign Minister Furious After Macron Says Russia Must Not Be Humiliated | ZeroHedge This comment nails it: "It's not just the EU that's in disarray. It is the global dollar based fiat system run by Macron's handlers."
  13. The coke-fiend Zelensky has written the book on lack of decorum, such as threatening to start WW3 while wearing military-style t-shirts (and nothing quite says "winning" like hitting up powerhouses like Slovakia for old Soviet-era junk), but a new standard was set when they sent some giant dude to Germany to plead their case. Truly, nothing can stop the Ukraine now, since they have Shrek on their side:
  14. I'm pretty sure it was at one of the LA '75 shows where Plant introduces Bonham before (or maybe after) Moby Dick as "John Heineken Beer Bonham", or something to that effect. Obviously a reference to his partying.
  15. They're pathetic: Scorpions say they changed Wind of Change lyrics as song ‘romanticised Russia’ | Germany | The Guardian
  16. Pretty much, yeah. Recently Kissinger and MSM outlets like the NYT and WaPo have called on the Ukraine to negotiate and make concessions. Which is an indication that at least some members of the oligarchy understand that the Ukraine isn't winning the war and continuing to throw money and arms at them is rapidly diminishing returns.
  17. I guess that's why the globalist oligarchs are so rich: they're just really good at predicting the future. Pretty amazing, huh?
  18. LOL. Yeah, I can see Gibson fitting in with the whole gangster vibe the Zep crew had going back then (he looked a bit like Johnny Bindon). Interesting from that article that there really weren't a lot of problems at the Pontiac show (rare for '77 Zep).
  19. I agree, this is an extremely cool bit of trivia. It would be interesting to hear of other prominent athletes, celebrities, etc. who had Zeppelin stories to share, there surely must be a good number of them.
  20. Looks like they've found the next current thing:
