  1. My father-in-law was admitted to the hospital today and is scheduled for open-heart surgery on Monday.
  2. Pittsburgh is a different type of city though - small town feel for such a large market. I don't think he has enough left in the tank to really help a team at this point.
  3. After a day where the third highest Dow Jones gain in history took place at about 620 points, today's market is already up another 220.
  4. Yeah I heard it last night when it happened. Twitter is a wonderful thing for immediate information, unfortunately not the information I wanted to hear though. On the bright side, we are deeper at that position than ever before and the entire 1st team offensive line practiced together for the first time in a long time.
  5. http://bigstory.ap.org/urn:publicid:ap.org:34624c96fcd04a10869491abe4f5bc46 What an incredible end to such a tragic accident.
  6. RIP Justin Wilson Condolences to his wife and two little girls, entire family, friends and all at Andretti Racing. The sport can be so brutal at times. Many have been lost and safety is still paramount. Sometimes there is nothing that can be done though at those speeds. Godspeed.
  7. ^19 and counting so far... http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yankees/yankees-retired-numbers-in-monument-park-1.1826858 Here is a story about all of the different retired numbers. I think they are a bit too generous in some instances - Pettite being one of them. Next up - #2 Derek Jeter, which is obviously much deserved and welcomed.
  8. Looking forward to it! Thank you for the update, Sam.
  9. Prayers going out to Justin Wilson and his family tonight. He was hit in the head with the nose of another car while driving through an accident during today's IRL race at Pocono. It's a heavy piece and he was traveling about 200 mph in an open cockpit race car. He was flown to the hospital with a head injury. Waiting for any updates....
  10. I think I'd wait until after the third preseason game to answer that question. That's when it's the closest to an actual game with most starters playing the entire first half. That third string qb is making the most heads turn, from what I'm reading. Btw, I'll stay where it's nice and warm that time of the year, thank you very much. Cold weather sucks anymore, to me, IMO. Remember, I grew up in the "snow belt" my first 16 years in existence. It does sound nice, post some pics for us! Hope you're doing well, Rick.
  11. Jordy Nelson allegedly tore his ACL in today's preseason game v. Pittsburgh. Ouch. I hope the Cowboys sit the entire starting team tonight playing at that albatross of a playing field, otherwise known as the 49'ers stadium. They had to re-sod it again this past Wednesday....
  12. The NFL always gives the Cowboys a tough December schedule. Playing at Rich Stadium is always tough, but in December it's exponentially tougher. I would think they'd fly in on Friday to keep the weekend as "normal" as possible. Should be a great end of the season matchup and possibly a Sunday night game with the flex scheduling they have. Who knows? We both need to get through the first 14 games before thinking about it, right?
  13. Great news to start the day with! Glad for you and your family!
  14. Happy Birthday to the Golden God! Wishing you a wonderful year full of happiness and good health!
  15. Photo from Sunday night...wish you were here!
  16. ^ Very nice! Puts everything in perspective, Planted!
  17. Good one, ebk! Don't worry, I feel the same way about the Red Sux!
  18. Ha ha! Man if I'd posted the article on Harvin's (still) bum hip, you would've had an aneurism! Murray leaving doesn't really bother me that much considering his numerous fumbles, history of injuries, and coming off a 450 touch season. But we'll see what happens. McFadden had his first 11 on 11 practice yesterday and dazzled everyone with his speed and cuts, but training camp is way too long and there are too many preseason games, IMO. Every team is suffering through injuries right now on all different levels. Can't wait for September, that's for sure!
  19. Hate is such a strong word, ebk...
  20. Said some earlier and will continue to do so. Blessings to you and your family.
  21. Big trouble in little China??? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000512343/article/lesean-mccoy-to-get-mri-after-hamstring-injury
  22. Happy Birthday, ebk! Hope you have a fantastic evening with great wine and an O's win!
