  1. I deep cleaned my kitchen today. It's spotless! It hasn't been this clean in a while. I literally scrubbed down and oiled my cupboards, scrubbed the kitchen floor with a scrub brush and then put floor wax down, wiped out drawers and cupboards, cleaned the top of the fridge, washed windows, scrubbed the sink with sink polish, etc. It's nice! I also dusted and vacuumed my entire upstairs part of the house, and the laundry's almost totally done. It's nice to have a nice, clean house Sunday night so you don't have to clean up Monday evening.
  2. I started a Three Dog Night station on Pandora, and it's playing America: "Sister Golden Hair!" I'm digging this.
  3. I washed my car on Friday. I took it to the full-service car wash and everything. ...it rained last night. Meh. Oh well--at least the inside's nice and clean now, right?
  4. Seriously? Why the FUCK do you insist on being such a jackass? Knock it off. This isn't second grade.
  5. Electrophile, he's freakin' adorable! I spend part of the afternoon yesterday looking at the humane society's webpage, trying to talk Dave into a dog. I think I need to just drag him to the freakin' pound. We are dog lovers, and we need one, dangit!
  6. ...sigh. At least you've only gained 20. Since I haven't had health insurance, my body's all whacked out b/c I can't afford my meds...therefore, I'm a fatty.
  7. ^ugh. Doesn't sound fun to me at all! I got to baby sit my niece today! I rarely get to do this at my own home, because my sister's a stay-at-home-mom while she works on school. My sister also lives with my mom and my other sister, so she's usually got plenty of help when she needs it. We had fun! We took a (very short) walk (it was really hot), then we played in the water. I was sad when it was time for her to leave.
  8. Great picture! You look the same! I hope I (kind of) look the same in 20+ years!
  9. 94 degrees, sunny, 9% humidity, with winds out of the Northwest at 8mph, so it feels like it's 91 out. 8:00pm
  10. I had these sausages for lunch today that were absolutely wonderful. They brand is Sausages by Amylu, and the flavor is Tequila & Lime Chicken sausage. I had two--100 calories, 4g of fat, 11g of protein each for lunch. I grilled them and put a bit of mustard on the side! Yum! I got 'em at Costco--$14 for 3 lbs, but it was well worth it!
  11. I didn't get the job. Most schools around here tell you that you're not allowed to call principals, etc., while waiting to hear on the job, therefore, I didn't. My baby sister started 11th grade today. She's a junior in high school! I can't believe it--it makes me feel old.
  12. Right now, it's gorgeous! 70 and sunny! It's supposed to get to a high of 95 today, which isn't much of a change from yesterday's 94. Tomorrow will be 100 and Friday's supposed to be 103 or something.
  13. I wish I could afford a pedicure every two weeks! I used to get my nails done every two weeks, but then it became too much of an expense.
  14. LOL No! My mom lusts for one though.
  15. I hate spray tan, because it always ends up looking really stupid. Vaseline doesn't do anything for me. I've tried. I do lotion, etc., but they're still rough, etc., and I need to scrub them. I've been sitting outside with sun attractant on with a cleverly placed towel over places I don't want to have a sunburn on.
  16. Because I dye my hair a darker shade than it is naturally, I always use professional color shampoos I have noticed a difference in how long the hair color sticks. It stays much longer if you use the shampoos formulated for color. My hair dresser told me that if I really don't want to buy professional products, to be sure that there is not "aluminum" something or other in the ingredients list on your shampoos. That's the major difference between on the shelf shampoo and the so-called "professional" ones. I do see a HUGE difference when I use on the shelf hairspray versus professional hairspray. I have very fine, yet very thick, straight hair. It's heavy and unwieldy. I use Soya Want Sexy Hair? by Big Sexy Hair. I love it. I use a little, and my hair stays put all day! Now...ladies, what to use to get your feet in decent condition? I've been scrubbing them and scrubbing them, and scrubbing them, but a summer of sandals has taken its toll on my feet! Another one: How do I fix my silly tan line? I have a swimsuit strap tan line, and my friend's wedding is in a month. I need to fix it because my bridesmaid dress looks silly with the white white non-tanned part showing.
  17. ^LOL I had to go bridesmaid dress shopping today. Though I didn't want to do it, I found a decent dress, and thankfully, my best friend isn't a bridezilla. I paid more for a dress than I would like to have, but it looks good on me, and it's a nice color. I'd actually wear it again if I had the occasion.
  18. ^Awesome! Great job! I always say I want to run, but truth be told, I just HATE it. Tangerine, I hope you have a great vacation. I've been out of school since July 31st, and I haven't really done anything other than hang around the house. It's been kind of boring--it was nice the first few days off, but now it's very, very boring.
  19. ^that's very cool. I've been trying to get MY BOYFRIEND to do anything except be a couch potato, and he's killing me. I wanted to get him to do a camping trip, but he's just not that into it.
  20. ^go, go, go! Buckeye---everyone knows you have a career, so it's a good thing that we all know it and she doesn't, eh?
  21. I was on the 10 year reunion committe of my high school's reunion. It was this July. We had it a combination of places: first at the actual school, second at a park (a picnic for families), the third at a hotel banquet room, and the last back at the school again. We had 500 graduates in my class. Only about 90 signed up to go!
  22. I've heard Siddhartha is a great story. It's in the 10th grade curriculum in the Boise SD.
  23. Set yer status, Babs!

    Come on!

  24. ^I LOVE A Brave New World! I wasn't sure if I would, but I read it because it was on the list for a book report I had to do for a MATH class, and I loved it. I'm reading Lost Horizon by James Hilton. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to use it in my night school class instead of The Odyssey. If all else fails, I may do both.
