  1. Crazies. I hate it when people start making a TON of noise in the early morning. I hated it worse when I was working nights and it was..say....8am. I believe the f-word was a favorite word of mine on those occasions.
  2. Did he wake you a little too early?
  3. Yeah....I can't compete with Inga's awesome picture... Me, last week before jury duty. It's been a few weeks since I had to dress in real work clothes, so I took a picture.
  4. ^really? I love sugar scrubs. I'm sure it works wonders.
  5. It's 9:34pm and I haven't touched it! I haven't done much of anything again today! I took my business suit to the cleaners to be be cleaned and pressed, along with my other "school clothes." I'm having company over for dinner tomorrow night, so I really should do some housework. LOL Yes! My mentor teacher called me this afternoon to tell me he talked with her for about fifteen minutes today about me too! Yesss! I didn't have to cook dinner tonight. ...and tonight is the fourth night in a row that I've had a nice walk in the evening sun. One thing I love about Idaho in the summer: It's light outside until 10pm. However, it's 9:38 now, and it's pretty dark. Summer IS coming to an end.
  6. I don't use chapstick much anymore. I can buy a tube of Burt's Bees, (and I buy the stuff with the color in it), and it lasts more than a year, seriously.
  7. Great picture, Celia! I'm always jealous of your beautiful vacation locales. Magenta, I hope you're at 100% soon!
  8. Oh no, lzfan! I'm sorry. I hope she's okay, too.
  9. ^lol My happy thing for today: it's 3:35, and I haven't really done a freakin' thing all weekend! ...though my clothes are in the washer and the dishes are in the dishwasher, you know.
  10. ^that's because men NEVER go to the freakin' doctor! When I was on Accutane, my skin and lips were so dry that I went through an entire tube of chapstick a week. I should have bought stock, eh?
  11. Well, I can understand that...I guess. I don't have a hometown team to root for, other than the Boise State Broncos. Believe me, I've gotten a TON of shit for that one.
  12. ^LOL I meant the Cubs or the Braves? D'oh! My dad's favorite baseball team was the Braves. Before that, he was an A's fan. However, he was a bonafide Cowboys man through and through--even when they sucked really badly in the 80's.
  13. ^who's your baseball team? The Bears or the Braves?
  14. That's on my "to read" list. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. So, I bragged to Aqua a while ago about how I never read A Day In The Life of Ivan Denisovich. Well, this job that I've got my eye on has said book IN THE CURRICULUM! It's a required book. Well, thank God I've still got my (mostly unread) hardback copy from when I was a 12th grader.
  15. Ally, I'll offer you free food, lodging, and entertainment (including wifi) if you hop on over here and fix up my deck!
  16. My car issues aren't as bad as they sound. All of those things are needed, but they're not majorly required. I'm getting the brakes and the tires done, then next month, I'll to the axles. THEN I'll get the a/c done. We have more than two cars, so it truly isn't that important. I got the Mac because my boyfriend told me to "just get the f-ing Mac, already!" He's happy that I'm happy, and so far, I'm loving this computer. It's a much, much better built machine than the other ones I looked at. One thing I was told about PC's by my friend who is a computer networking security-thingy guy, (incidentally the SAME guy who made our secured, hidden and encrypted network so hard to crack that we just went out and bought a new router): with a PC, don't get less than 4GB of RAM because Vista requires at least 1GB JUST FOR RUNNING WINDOWS! I was told that with a Mac, Mac Os doesn't use as much RAM, therefore, you don't need as much. Of course, I'd LOVE to max it out with 8GB, but I'm not paying a grand for that. They're coming out with Windows 7, and who knows how much RAM that's going to take up? The Mac I bought has the same amount of RAM as my old laptop, yet it's about 900X faster! Explain that. edit: ...and plus, since a computer functioning correctly is a major part of my livelihood, why should I have to justify my spending? I feel like I'm having to answer to people on this website. It's not putting me in dire straights, and my car issues will be taken care of--one at a time. I was not going to spend all of my money on getting everything done at once anyhow.
  17. Once I stopped wearing foundation all the time, I found that the blackheads went away. I still get them, but it's a LOT easier to control with daily care.
  18. Yup, and I was even able to add my old laptop to the network immediately! Yess!
  19. We bought a new router and a new printer. I'm online with my new Mac! We had all the information for the router, but it was so old (about six years old) that it didn't have the easy set-up instructions like others. It was a pain in the ass, but now we've upgraded our router from a G to an N. Yess! The laptop's just old. It doesn't have any spyware or viruses according to all the trouble shooting our friend (a computer networking security guy)--at least as of last March. It's just OLD. I bought a new printer today, too. It's a pretty cool one. We'll see how I like it in a few days, after I've figured out all its bells and whistles.
  20. ^nothing yet. I haven't gotten an estimate. I'm afraid to know, really.
  21. I'm honestly getting quite irritated. According to the Airport, it's ready to go--I'm connected. THEN I go and open up Safari...and IT SAYS IT'S NOT CONNECTED! Ugh. I can plug in the ethernet, and it works...sometimes. (sigh) edit: I'm guessing this actually belongs in the Pet Peeves thread.
  22. I bought a new computer today. I got a Macbook Pro. I'm excited as hell, but I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET ON THE BLOODY INTERNET WITH IT! We have a secured network that Dave's friend (who doesn't like on this side of the country anymore) set up--now I can't figure out how to get into it. Therefore, I'm still using the old computer that freezes all the time.
  23. I hate to tell you, it's much more than the a/c. My interior is black, and believe it or not HM, though it's hotter where you are, in order to get to point A to point B in summer heat without being a sweaty mess, I need it. I haven't used it this summer when I don't need it because I know it's not working well. The a/c works, but it squeals. The car squeals every time it starts up. The gas mileage is compromised now too, becuase the compressor clutch keeps trying to engage--even when it's NOT on. I have a major repetitive power draw from the a/c, similar to that you feel in cars that aren't running well and the a/c is on. It didn't do that before--even last summer. Now it's lost power, etc. Yeah...calling around for middle of the road tires is the goal of today. Charles, other than those things, the car runs very well. My mechanic said if I ever wanted to sell it, he'd buy it. I've thought about buying a new car, but since I haven't had full-time employment for over a year because of school, etc., I can't do it. I need to fix it and keep driving it--plus, no one would loan me money without having a steady income.
  24. 1. new brakes (just the pads, but both sets) 2. new tires (they're shot--these have top priority) 3. new cv boots or joints, whichever my car has 4. a/c compressor clutch 5. new window gaskets ...and a few other things that I can't remember off the top of my head. It's been a good car, it's just in need of some (pricey) maintenance.
