Took my husband out for his 60th birthday dinner (wow - how did that happen? ) Had a marvelous dinner, then a dessert cocktail consisting of Godiva Chocolate liqueur, vodka, and peanut butter. Yes, real peanut butter. It was sooooooooooooo good....

Traffic. It is the scourge of my existence.

I laughed. I cried. It was wonderful fun!!!

Had our annual Sunday Before TG dinner with my closest friends and family. A fine time was had by all. Plus lots of fabulous food and wine!!

Thanks for this, Sam. This is really close to my house (I pass it on the way to one/from of my fave wine stores ). Saw Simon and Garfunkel there back in the stone age... A shame it's fallen on hard times. Hope it's not too late to do something about it.

Not going back to work till Tuesday!!! And, driving to Philly Sunday to see a close friend I haven't seen in over a year. Can't wait!

Wine! Wine always makes me happy, but it's even better when my friend from Spokane is visiting and brings lovely Washington State wines! I've also found that after visiting all of the monument and memorials on school trips, I never go back...until I have guests. We went to Hillwood Museum today, home of Marjorie Merriweather Post (of Pavillion fame ). It's fabulous! If you're in DC and want to get away from the urban life, I highly recommend it.

Barbara Cook is going to be a Kennedy Center honoree - finally!! Actually, the whole class is pretty great - Meryl Streep, Sonny Rollins, Yo-Yo Ma and Neil Diamond are the others. Should be a good show.
