  1. ...No prob's...I was simply relying on the experience/knowledge of veteran members, but here it is the topic continues...some more pic's/info. (Clive has very impressive bio as per your previous post...) Dark Ages 1965 L to R: Mick Sibley, Clive Coulson, Vaughan Stephens, Ian Thompson and Darryl Keogh. Line-Up: Clive Coulson (Vocals) Mick Sibley (Lead Guitar / Harmonica / Vocals) Darryl Keogh (Rhythm Guitar and Vocals) Vaughan Stephens (Bass Guitar) Ian Thompson (Drums) http://www.sergent.com.au/darkages.html At the end of 1966, the call of the advertising world took the third brother into the family business, so without Owen, the group decided to disband. Kevin McNeil reformed the Mods in Hamilton, enticing Clive to join him for a short while, before Clive moved to England where he became a roady and eventually road manager for Led Zeppelin. Meanwhile the Campbell's advertising business turned into a very successful international venture. http://www.sergent.com.au/rayders.html
  2. http://www.sopromusic.com/joejammer/jammerzepplin.htm ...info. about Jimmy's guitar/tech..etch...just thought I add this
  3. ...same here, back in '77 though...
  4. R.I.P. Clive Coulson.... Any pictures?....I can't find any.... Further to his technical duties, he also accompanied Page, one night, to the alluring premises of Miss P. She writes...."I'm with the Band," Page arrived in a limo with his roadie Clive ...and I fainted at the very sight of him........ Rodney and Miss P.
  5. ...This is a great thread...I didn't know it existed...I was thinking about starting one Thanks to Knebby for starting this long before.....
  6. ...that is very interesting sighting. Both Robert and Jimmy were very lucky to share music with him...he died shortly after that in 1965....RIP Sonny Boy Williams........
  7. Thank you. I hope to hear from some historians/industry insiders that we have never heard from before, and please don't miss out on the Fashion of the 60's and 70's...It is all too important for cultural Identity of every generation. I love Jimmy's fashion statement both on stage and off stage....(can you please include some details about Jimmy's Dragon Suits, as to who designed it, etc...) tks... :D
  8. I Have it... Article Title... "As the 60's ended, session supremo Jimmy Page put together a band and a plan that would change rock forever - even if it did owe a whole lot to music's past...." Led Zep I about 5 Pic's mostly familiar.... CDN $14.75
  9. ...Thank you for posting this valuable information..I read the original book and found to be very informative, despite being unauthorized bio....I will have to buy this Edition now...
  10. ...RIP Sable Starr.... ...once upon a time there was a Beautiful Girl, a Suitor.... what a time it was, what a world it was.......... tks for entertaining with your stories.........
  11. ......No, Zep are very strong foundation, a musical institution that has stood the test of time...from late 70's on, many different type of music was explored by each generation, ie. "Punk", Disco, etc.. The generation of the 80's, for example, soon realized the value of ZEP... .....to retain their mystique and still be Mainstream as you suggest..a very rare possibility for few Rock Groups....ZEP being one of them... "Old is Gold".......
  12. ...and then you will be formally appointed as the CEO of Led Zeppelin Forum....... ...truth is music/culture has to be experienced for that moment, together....there is no other way to experience time, no matter how advanced technology is to appreciate Led Zeppelin music....the camaraderie that generation shared remains equally important, if not more...
  13. ...just a little Zep connection........ Rediff (Sun Dec 1 00:10:28 1996 ) Channel [V] Awards Stage darkened and the audience went wild as the legendary duo from Led Zep, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page stepped onto stage, joined by Queen's Roger Taylor on drums, and Remo on guitar. And the minute they struck the first chord, sang the first word, you could feel the energy in the air. The music moved us all the moved us in every way. Their performance of Rock and Roll was, without seeming like I'm gushing, INCREDIBLE, FABULOUS, ELECTRIFYING. When the song ended, the stadium rocked with pleas for just one more song, PLEASE. But, just as quickly and quietly as they came in, they left with only their music ringing in our ears and a memory that will last a lifetime. http://www.rediff.com/chat/vcomcht2.htm Furthrer Reading: The Parsi Culture, "Freddie's Roots" on verge of Extinction, a very tragic fact.... "the 2001 census put the number of Parsis at just 69,601, which is even less than one per cent of the Indian population. However, Parsis, have never been more than 115000. http://news.webindia123.com/news/Articles/...31/1041268.html
  14. ....I do try to make my self clear....You are right, there had to be so many, for this kind of mystery.... just couple more links which lean towards "Page", but still no confirmation: In early 1965 Bobby Graham who had played drums with Joe Brown & The Bruvvers and now a talent scout, auditioned the N'Betweens at the Le Metro Club in Birmingham. The result was a recording contract for the N'Betweens and the group travelled down to Pye Studios in London to record some songs. Well known session guitarist Jimmy Page was booked to play on the recordings but he was apparently not required although he may have appeared on the N'Betweens recording of Little Nightingale, an early composition of his. The sessions resulted in four songs by the N'Betweens being released on an EP in France but these had no impact on the record charts. http://www.brumbeat.net/nbtwns.htm The first recording by the 'N Betweens (John Howells/ Mick Marson/Dave Hill/Dave 'Cass' Jones/Don Powell) to be made in a 'proper' studio was actually released by the French Barclay label. The group had been auditioned at the Le Metro in Birmingham. The record comprised four tracks on an EP, the tracks being Take A Heart / Feel So Fine / Little Nightingale / You Don’t Believe Me. Whilst the record was released by Barclay in France, it was actually made at the Pye studios in Britain. According to John Ogden: http://www.localhistory.scit.wlv.ac.uk/art...imes/Page7b.htm
  15. ...thank you...that's Robert, doing his own thing, some where, whenever, whoever :D
  16. Aqua ...so sorry about this...."My limited expert knowlege"............. Relevant Bit........ "A romance between the Group and Noddy was in the water bath. In 1965 they recorded another EP, this time for Barclay records. The Disc was released in France. They recorded this disc, among others, the song "Little Nighttingale", the Guitarist Jimmy Page, who worked in the studios of Pye in Marble Arch."
  17. http://translate.google.ca/translate?hl=en...DN%26start%3D10 ...until confirmed by the "EXPERTS"....this is about the only other thing I could find
  18. ....and you are probably referring to this....(this is what I could find) The other track, "Little Nightingale," is a generic tune with the same approach bearing the writing credit of "Page"; an educated guess would surmise that this might be then-session man Jimmy Page, who was one of the writers of "You Don't Believe Me." http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/store/arti...2525319,00.html
  19. Yes, thanks for the correction...(it was rather late when I posted this pic, but yes Beck had already left..) (this from the Mysteries Thread, tks to Steve) There seems to be no consensus amongst The Yardbirds as to precisely when Jeff was removed from the group. In one recollection, his last gig was at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi, Texas on 10/30/66. In another, both Dreja & Beck cite Memorial Coliseum in Dallas on 10/29/66. In a third, Jeff states he quit the first week of November '66 in Kansas (they played the Memorial Hall on 11/5/66). By July, 1968 they split, and The New Yardbirds reformed...
