  1. Feature film, Yellow Submarine, debuted in 1968. The Beatles originally weren’t too keen about the picture, but after seeing elements of the cartoon, liked it enough to make a cameo at the end of the flick. Actors were hired to do the voices of The Beatles. Ringo Starr still gets asked today why he “pushed the button” that created all of the chaos in the animated picture. Billie Holiday died in 1959 from cirrhosis of the liver. Jazz saxophone great, John Coltrane, died of liver cancer in 1967. Chas Chandler of The Animals, and one time manager of Jimi Hendrix, died in 1996 of an aortic aneurysm.
  2. Now that's clever, lol...i would accept that.
  3. YES (it may be a repeat but not from me, lol)
  4. Why do you have to forget about Robert? It wouldn't be about recreating Led Zeppelin or adding a new singer to replace another legendary one (like Queen did with Paul Rodgers, ugh). Medhb clearly said "new". I will say Eddie Vedder's voice is quite deep and i don't think he has great range. But he sings well and sounds great doing the songs he does. He is also a wonderful songwriter, so with his lyrics and Jimmy's music, could be awesome! They might even make a great songwriting team. So who's gonna sell this idea to Jimmy?
  5. Vicious, Sid (sorry if this is repeated, i haven't had time to read the entire thread)
  6. Pearl Jam are one of the few bands i have loved since the 90's began. Great rock n roll! Eddie Vedder is adorable and i have always dug him. Eddie has a great voice and exudes passion in every thing he does. IF Jimmy was to recruit him for a project i think it would be awesome. My only demand is they don't call themselves Led Zeppelin. Eddie with my idol...i love rock n roll humanitarians!
  7. Coffee with extra cream, no sugar!
  8. purple rain (and not because of Prince)...and dodging the obvious answer of "fifty cent hat"
  9. That was a wonderful day! Unless you were in attendance you can't appreciate what meaning it held. Seeing Robert, Jimmy and John Paul Jones together was wonderful, no matter how harsh people judge their performance. The entire day was a once in a lifetime event for people my age (who missed Woodstock by a whole lot of years).
  10. Just Like Heaven...The Cure
  11. You should make sure Tiki gets a good brand of pellets. I have read rotating pellets a few days a week with seeds (so the bird doesn't just pick out the seeds he wants to eat and leaves the pellets) is a good way to feed them. Pellets are loaded with nutrition the bird needs. As for people food, you should add fruits to the diet. My bird loved apples, grapes, apricots, peaches, watermelon, canteloupe, honeydew, cherries...and yogurt, cheese, scrambled eggs, Honey bunches of Oates cereal with milk, pasta, chinese food (lol, okay it is loaded with sodium), Jasmine would stand at the edge of my dad's plate and eat off it sometimes...the point is a variety of fruits/veggies and other healthy people food. You can even feed them some poultry (yikes!). FYI...no Avocado or chocolate!
  12. Probably a regular old "budgie" then...tiki is a cute name! Well most parakeets are good talkers so you should have much enjoyment to look forward to. Do me a favor, read up on the best way to care for your pet bird (if you don't already know) and try to take care of him the best you can. I love birds and it saddens me how many pet birds live a life in a cage with bird seed as their diet. Sorry, but this is something very sad to me. One of the subjects i can get "preachy" about, sorry.
  13. I agree. I consider Led Zeppelin to be "hard rock" with of course lots of blues/rock, too. But i don't consider any Led Zeppelin songs to be "Heavy Metal". I would give that title to "Black Sabbath". However, Led Zeppelin always have been and always will be more popular than Black Sabbath, IMO. and certainly better. Black Sabbath was the first rock band i ever saw in concert back in 1979...wish it had been Led Zeppelin...
  14. How sweet...what type of parakeet, what's his name and what did he say? I had a Grey cheeked parakeet for 17 years, he died a couple years ago. He was a "shoulder and hand" bird, lol...he died in my dad's hand actually (caught a bad Respiratory Infection 2 winters ago). Still 17 was pretty old for his species and he lived a great life. Jasmine's favorite word was "Baby Bird". He/she (because we never knew the gender) loved rock n roll music, especially The Beatles and Don Henley.
  15. After reading Spalove's post about swimming with Dolphins i thought how joyous that must be (for people like me who would love to do that). I also thought about how sad today has become for me. It's amazing how fleeting these feelings can be. Still, people always have best and worst life experiences. For me one of the happiest days of my life is of course the day my daughter was born. Another was seeing Robert Plant's first solo tour in 1984 (which i thought of today when "Big Log" was playing on the radio). As for saddest days, well my first heartbreak comes to mind. That was thirty years ago. Anyone else want to share?
  16. The big hugs and kisses from my daughter. Otherwise, i have to call today a very sad one.
  17. Awesome. Dolphins are such beautiful creatures. I should put swimming with dolphins on my list of things i want to do someday.
  18. I didn't realize Plant/Krauss were at the Mann. I knew they played in AC. Great seats, you must have loved it! I was up against the stage at the Mann once (when my friend and I walked up there) during a George Thorogood show back in the early 80's.
