chef free Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Artist: Led Zeppelin Date: 1973-01-15 Location: Stoke, England Venue: Trentham Gardens Source: Soundboard Lineage: 1st gen cassette>dat(2)>cdr(2)>eac>wav>flac Tracklist: 01. Rock And Roll 02. Over The Hills And Far Away 03. Black Dog 04. Misty Mountain Hop 05. Since I've Been Loving You 06. Dancing Days 07. Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp 08. The Song Remains The Same (cuts out) 09. The Rain Song (cuts in) 10. Dazed And Confused 11. Stairway To Heaven 12. Whole Lotta Love (cuts in) Length: 111:54 Best sounding commonly available low gen version of this particular show. Each tape side was individually speed corrected and retracked afterwards. Of all the versions of this show I've listened to only 1 ever came close to sounding this good and that was the old Pageboys Live In Stoke release if anyone remembers that relic. This oldie but goodie has always been one of my favorite shows. This show always had two neat little moments I enjoyed which is when they break into The Crunge during Dazed And Confused and the fact they play a bit of the opening riff of Hendrix's Voodoo Child (Slight Return) and then jam on a variation of the same notes right before going into the theremin section of Whole Lotta Love. ledded1 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 A date etched in my memory as this was my first live Zep show. I took the day off school to get to the venue very early even though it was only 7 miles from my home. It was a damn cold day.I was invited into the hall by the roadies as they set up the equipment and they fed me tea and sandwiches. Had to goout when they opened the gates to thegardens where the hall was but I was still first in the queue and then front centre for the show about 3 feet from the stage. It's like it was yestsrday Quote

ally Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Indeed!!!! the 7 mile walk home flew by with my friends and I on a high. It's only been the last couple of years that I've had a chance to listen to this show and this tour . Brilliant performances with my only complaint being that No Quarter wasn't part of the set list . At least, not for any show I've heard. Quote
