"Steve McQueen, Steve McQueen...

Bullitt was my favorite movie that I'd ever seen

I totaled my go-cart trying to imitate that chase scene

That Duster had six hubcaps, know what I mean?

and I love the way they all flew off when it landed in that ravine..."

The Secret Of Steve McQueen's Bullitt Chase Scene

For all the attention Steve McQueen has received for the famous chase in "Bullitt," he only

drove 10% of the scene. Marc Myers got to drive the route with the stuntman who deserves

credit for the scene. -Ed.

The scene where the one car crashed into the gas station was when they had come down from San Bruno Mountain.

I used to ride my Sportster a lot up that road and there's a great view of just about the whole bay area. B)

This clip was featured on 60 Minutes back in October of last year. For more info on the clip as well as a link to Morley Safer's full report, click here.

I've seen that a few times and it is controlled chaos.

Just amazing to see the clothes thay wore back then. Very fitting for the cold summer (Not very fitting for the Indian summer) :D

Saw that when it was on 60 minutes. It doesn't look like it was so long ago. In the same way that colour footage of WWII looks very much like the footage from Vietnam. Hope that made sense :D
