Wolfman
Turns out the scream queen used to be a groupie and Jimmy was one of the first times she saw a man's private parts. She said Jimmy looked like a snake. Too funny! This was on "Let's Spend The Night Together" where Pamela Des Barres drives around and talks to former (or still current) groupies. There was another blonde girl that used to be with Robert back in 1969. They both fell in love and Robert later told her she represented the girl in "GTC". Jimmy told her she was good for Robert too. Pamela also hung out with Cynthia, the Plaster Caster girl, who showed how well endowed Hendrix was. He could have been a porn star if the rock thing didn't work out. Pretty entertaining show. Weird...I've always read that "Going to California" was inspired by Jimmy and Robert's infatuation with Joni Mitchell.
TheStairwayRemainsTheSame
Jimmy looked like a snake All that "devil-worshiping" paid off. It's a joke, relax.

Melcore, You are correct about the song being inspired by Joni.
walter's walker
Yep. Never understood the attraction with Joni Mitchell. A few of her songs were pretty good but I never got her. Liked her band when she had Pat Methany and Jaco Pastorius in the early 80's even, but I never got why she was so popular. Maggie Bell (of Stone The Crows) and Jinx Dawson (of Coven) were much better vocalists, but I guess they weren't the quintessential Hippy Chick that Joni was. Wolfman
To clear up what they groupie said: she wasn't THE girl in the song but was an inspiration for her (per RP).
Sagittarius Rising
Just watched the vid on YouTube and I have to be honest. With the exception of Elvira the rest seem like 16 year old girls stuck in 60 year old bodies. That sweet Connie was just nasty and Cynthia Plaster Caster, holy crap, words cannot even describe the level of self-parody. No wonder Richard Cole threw her into a pool, that woman is a carp if I ever saw one!

They've elevated themselves to be more than what they were used for then.
