Snickybomb Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I’ve read several Zep/Page biographies over the summer and have noticed that a few discuss Page being carried around backstage before/after concerts by Peter Grant and other staff. Before Knebworth In 1979, Chris Salewicz mentions that Page was taken to the stage on a stretcher. Having seen pictures of him walking around after getting off the helicopter and footage of the concerts, I find that anecdote strange. Obviously, you can’t believe everything you read, but I’m just curious If you guys have thoughts. Quote
bluecongo Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I think maybe there was one time where Page was carried offstage, and then that turned into a million different stories as ridiculous as the Knebworth one. I mean, there's pics of Jimmy walking to the stage! LOL Quote

Not surprised considering the support line up. Todd being the exception, it was the worst/dullest billed gig I have ever been to. Quote
Mr.Bones Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 The only mention of Jimmy being carried offstage that I am aware of was the April 9th 1977 concert in Chicago which was the show he collapsed at the end of Ten Years Gone. Too bad as the boot from that show has Jimmy playing pretty damn good until things begin to go south with him starting SIBLY out of order from the setlist. Quote
