The Robert Plant & Alison Krauss concert at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis, MO on June 19th has been RESCHEDULED to September 24th to allow for the planned filming of a forthcoming concert DVD. Due to popular demand, an additional second concert has been added for September 25th, which is also scheduled to be filmed.

I got the e-mail as well. I'm glad the Detroit shows weren't changed. I live in California, but was really bummed to see that all 4 California dates were scheduled for when I was visiting the East, and that the Detroit show was scheduled for the day before I arrived there. I spent $300 to change plane tickets so I can get to Detroit on the day of the show Tuesday.

Nice to hear about the DVD. Now if only they will release a DVD of the O2 show.

the fabulous fox in st. louis is one of the best venues in the midwest (and i've been to many). chuck berry's 60th was filmed there and made into a movie (hail, hail, rock and roll). so, don't bum too bad, it'll be a great show...

Let us know how the Detroit show goes on Tuesday. I had thought about going to the Chicago area show but decided against it since St. Louis is closer to me driving distance and all.

I must say I was impressed that I got a phone message from Metrotix about the date change also. I guess since it was such short notice they did that.

Yes the Fabulous Fox is a great venue. It has wonderful sound and is a site to see. I am so glad they restored it back in the 80's as it was run down and in shambles till they did that. I think it was back in the 80's they restored it.

I am still bummed about the change in the date but I guess I will survive. The positive side to this is I am going to try to get better seats for the 2nd show they added. I just hope I can afford the gas by the time Sept rolls around! We are at $4.09 a gallong or more here right now. :(

Until then I will check out the Youtube videos of their concerts and get my Robert fix that way! :D

The Detroit show was fantastic. I wrote about it here: http://forums.ledzeppelin.com//index.php?s...id=203788&#

Anyone who is an Alison fan, a Rober fan, a T bone fan, or a music fan should go see them.

Isn't there flooding in St Loius? Perhaps that was a consideration as well....?....

I don't think it has flooded yet there but might. I was wondering the same thing if they postponed it in case it was going to flood. The Fox is downtown but quite a ways from the River and the last big flood they had 15 years ago it didn't flood that far to the fox just the steps up to the Arch were flooded. I lived in North Carolina at the time but I asked a coworker last week about the St. Louis flooding 15 years ago and if the Fox was affected then.

Thanks for the report and glad you had a good time. I was so bummed all day yesterday since that was supposed to be the day of the concert in St. Louis, MO. Oh well, I guess I will wait till Sept to see them. I am still waiting to hear from the Fox when the 2nd date (Sept. 25) tickets go on sale. Gonna try to get better seats for the 25th to replace my original tickets for June 19th that will be honored at the Sept. 24 show. I keep checking their website daily and the Metrotix has my phone number since they are keeping a list of people who want tickets for the 25th that had tickets for the original date. The person at Metrotix said the postponing of the concert really messed up alot of peoples vacations and all and since it wasn't announced till last Friday alot of people were already off work or getting ready to go on their vacation and come to St. Louis for the concert.

I am almost tempted to go both nights to the concert!

It is true. You can go to the Fox Theatre website here and read it for yourself:

http://www.fabulousfox.com/shows_page_multi.aspx?usID=88

It was also listed on the Robert Plant/Alison Krauss website but since the June 19, 2008 has passed it is no longer listed there but is on the news area listed here:

http://www.robertplantalisonkrauss.com/site.php?content=news

It mentions July 19, 2008 but that is a typo they didn't catch.

I wished it wasn't true and the concert would have been last night! I was so bummed all day at work. I guess I will have to wait. I am wondering what they are gonna be doing from July 19, 2008 when the listed tour dates end till Sept. 24-25, 2008 rolls around.

Just be happy they choose The Fox to film! Hey, you may appear in it, if your seats are up close.

* I'd be wearing my best "Robert concert outfit"* :D

I once had to wait till November, when he was supposed to play in the late spring early summer.

I was preggers at the time, and was worried sick I'd be in labor when he came. Luckily I gave birth ONE week before the concert, and I hobbled in with tits full of milk and a two hour time clock to get home to feed my baby girl.

marriot isn't far. $10 cab ride.

to do in st. louis? sure...lotsa blues and music. there are several different neighborhoods to drift through....on the river is the most touristy. laclede's landing down on the river by the arch has tons. i used to eat at the spagetti factory with the streetcars. they closed 'mississippi nights' where once upon a time i saw and met roy buchanon, john lee hooker, the fabulous t-birds, billy peek, and plenty more. casino's now rule. i would do a walk through but party somewhere else.

south of bush stadium is bb's jazz blues and soups-great music, excellent fried chicken, very smoky...

there's the broadway oyster bar close to bb's..same food as home for you and me and not as good..

al, if you prefer more blues and jazz, just jaunt south of the arch to the soulard neighborhood..check out 'mike n min's'. they are on geyer. anyone there will point you in the direction of several good bands and bars. i would also scope out mcgurks irish pub. soulard is my favorite hang...

there is also the university city loop. blueberry hill is there, some vinyl and music stops.

there's union station in the city on market which was refurbed back in the late '80s. several places there to shop, eat and drink..

the best food will of course be italian on 'tha hill' south of forest park. the best food, and i love great food. my favorite: rigazzi's on daggett, but check out any food joint or bakery for some excellent food, almigettis on wilson, lessee, that ought to hold ya.

the city closes down early, so watch yourself..

hope this helps, al (and anyone else going). have a great time-robert loves st. louis, i've seen him several times there all over the city.

edit to add: oh! i almost forgot-over the missouri river is old st. charles, a killer little town. scenic, with antiqueing, excellent food and music. highly recommend!

Is there a better place to stay in St Louis than the Marriot for easy access to the venue but is still a 4 or 5 star quality?

I am thinking of attending both nights of the concert. Might check out what seats are left for the 24th and see if there are better ones than the ones I have already. Still waiting to hear about tickets for the 25th. Sounds like you got some ideas on things to do while in St. Lous. Marriott isn't that far from the Fox.

I currently have reservations at the Marriott Courtyard at 2340 Market street and at the Marriott renosance 800 washington ave .The one on Market street is closer to the show but the other is closer to the Arch and Busch Stadium decisions decisions.

Now they are only doing one show on Sept 24 and it won't be filmed for DVD either. I sure hope they end up doing this show. I have a feeling this one will be cancelled too. I sure hope not. I just got a phone call from Metrotix saying the Sept 25 show isn't happening and only the show on the 24th will go on. I checked the fox website and it states that too:

http://www.fabulousfox.com/shows_page_single.aspx?usID=93

So does the RP/AK site:

http://www.robertplantalisonkrauss.com/sit...mp;content=news

Still lists the original show as July 19 that is a typo still.

It looks like the 24th is still on I got My tickets in the mail last week not the best seats but not bad considering how late I got them.Wish I had known about the Kansas city show a little earlier could have tried to make it also but my week is planned.Might make the Houston Show possibly we shall see.Nope cant do the Houston Show Austin is possible but doubtful looks like I will have to be happy with St Louis.

Unless I go see Sharon in Seattle then I could see that one. Sharon can I come visit?

I hope the 24th is still on! I am not as worried now that they might cancel since they have scheduled more dates around that time now too in other cities. My tickets aren't the best either since I waited pretty late to buy mine when the original date (June 19, 2008) was on. If I knew I was gonna have to wait till mid Sept. I would have went to the Chicago show too and saw them there but didn't know at the time they were gonna reschedule the St. Louis date!
