AngelOfAvalon Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I've always wondered what Carouselambra means (as a word or phrase). I know there's real LZ wizards here so what would be a better place to ask this question. Anyone? Quote
TheZeppyWanderer Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 (edited) not quite sure - we all know what a Carousel is .... but what's an Ambra . BTW - CAROUSELAMBRA is an anagram of AL CAR MOUSE BRA. that much I do know Edited August 27, 2008 by TheZeppyWanderer Quote
DianaC Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I really don't know (so I can't actually answer)... but I liked the song, I just heard it this week!! (it's a bit too long tho, but pretty good) I think if they had kept playing during the 80's their music would probably sound more like this rather than 'metalish'... (is that a word?) hehehehe PS: Sorry my bad english... Quote

Evster2012 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Well "ambra" means amber (fossile resin and color) in several languages, including Latin. Quote
ZeppFanForever Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Well "ambra" means amber (fossile resin and color) in several languages, including Latin. Right on Evster, there you have it everyone! ROCK ON! Quote
Evster2012 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Right on Evster, there you have it everyone! ROCK ON! Well, unless the image of a carousel of amber is what they were suggesting, I haven't really advanced us anywhere! Quote
ZeppFanForever Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Well, unless the image of a carousel of amber is what they were suggesting, I haven't really advanced us anywhere! Yeah, but its a real fine place to start! ROCK ON! Quote
FireOpal Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Carousel, meaning the music is spinning around and... well then it kind of sounds like "Alhambra" referring to the spectacular Moorish palace and gardens in Spain. So the title could be describing the music with its intricate arabesque patterns that swirl in a kaleidescopic display. Or it could be about sex, I dunno. That's what Jim Morrison said whenever a writer asked him what a particular song meant and he didn't want to tell them (or it couldn't be described), "It's about sex." Quote
leddy Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 There is a font named Caroulselambra, just thought I would throw that into the mix. Quote
ro_a Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 But it's CarouselaMbra I was hoping no one would notice. No slipping one by you, eh? I like your amber explanation. Quote
Evster2012 Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I was hoping no one would notice. No slipping one by you, eh? I like your amber explanation. Yeah, I have an annoying eye for detail!! On a serious note, I am trying to find some congruity between the title and the lyrics. Might as well be Black Dog. Quote
The Wanton One Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 There was a book in the local library concerning Led Zeppelin songs and all their history, but I cannot remember exactly what it was called but that had the meaning of all the songs they ever did,so it would be in there somewhere.
