  1. Believer - Goldfrapp So excited.....their new album leaked today!
  2. Zep IV on vinyl.......I can't remember when I bought it, but it was a while ago.
  3. Betty White is a fucking funny lady. She's just awesome. Great sense of humor, and very sharp even for being 88. This might be the first SNL episode I've watched in about 15 years.
  4. Ordinarily I would not side with the artists in a case like this, but with Pink Floyd....they weren't a "singles" band. They were definitely an albums band, much like Led Zeppelin. They believed their music was best heard within the context of the album, rather than as individual tracks. I happen to agree. If you take a song like Sheep off of Animals and just put it in a random playlist, you lose the context of the song and what Roger was talking about. So good for them for putting their foot down.
  5. Stoned Soul Picnic - The Fifth Dimension
  6. Yeah, especially since Graham Nash was barefoot the whole time, jumping around like a kid.
  7. You didn't need to quote my post for that.
  8. I don't do tornadoes either. Fortunately the area I live in doesn't get hit with them all that often (none in the time we've lived here), so we just have to worry about really bad thunderstorms, one of which we're supposed to get tomorrow night. Now back in 2006, when we were living in Alpharetta, GA (about 20 mi north of Atlanta), a tornado hit about 2 miles from our house. Our parents were out of town so my sister and I were home alone when it happened. We were cowering in our half-bathroom downstairs, with a flashlight, battery-powered radio and a cell phone. The next morning we were driving around and it was stunning the amount of damage. Over on Main Street, a huge oak tree that had been inbedded in cement had been literally ripped out of the ground. Tornadoes scare the hell out of me.
  9. Sweet City Woman - The Stampeders
  10. The glorious weather! It's supposed to be even nicer tomorrow - 67 and sunny with a clear blue sky. Divine!
  11. I don't care for Zep III, really. I think their best work was done after Zep IV...basically starting with Physical Graffiti. That's not saying the stuff they did before that was shit, just that I think they got better as they went along.
  12. To be honest, it's only silly to people who think that an opinion about a song that is contrary to their own can't exist. I love reading the responses from people who think it's downright inconceivable that someone might think a song Led Zeppelin did wasn't in their opinion, that good.
  13. (sorry, all I could think of were smilies)
  14. What is the "level" we're talking about? Sales? Influence? Number of people wearing the band's name on t-shirts even though they couldn't name more than the two songs played on the radio? Awards? When I think of massively huge bands from about 1968-1980, I think of Pink Floyd, The Who, The Stones and Led Zeppelin. So right there in my mind, you have their peer group.
  15. These were the Zep songs I heard on the radio today: Rock and Roll Stairway To Heaven All My Love Over The Hills and Far Away D'yer Mak'er Ramble On Fool In The Rain Black Dog
  16. There are many Zep songs that took me a few listens to really get "into" them, but there are a few where the minute I heard them, I had to hear more. --Tea For One --When The Levee Breaks --That's The Way --Kashmir --In The Evening --Ten Years Gone
  17. Sitting in my window, staring at the dark sky and stars, drinking a Starbucks and listening to some Floyd.
  18. I would not shoot you. I would however, slap you in the face with a trout. And yes, David is the absolute epitome of "awesome".
  19. The weather! It's supposed to be 60 today and 65 tomorrow! And even better.....near 70 on Monday! Hopefully this means our cold, snowy winter is over because I was getting sick of it.
  20. Sidney Crosby can go choke on a vacuum cleaner hose. I hate that punk. Now, moving on to a very beautiful man who just so happens to be celebrating his 64th birthday today.......
  21. Forgive me if this has been posted already, but I'm not reading through 24 pages to see if someone beat me to it, but here's LZ live at Earl's Court doing Trampled Underfoot.....in HD!
