  1. To be honest, it's only silly to people who think that an opinion about a song that is contrary to their own can't exist. I love reading the responses from people who think it's downright inconceivable that someone might think a song Led Zeppelin did wasn't in their opinion, that good.
  2. (sorry, all I could think of were smilies)
  3. What is the "level" we're talking about? Sales? Influence? Number of people wearing the band's name on t-shirts even though they couldn't name more than the two songs played on the radio? Awards? When I think of massively huge bands from about 1968-1980, I think of Pink Floyd, The Who, The Stones and Led Zeppelin. So right there in my mind, you have their peer group.
  4. These were the Zep songs I heard on the radio today: Rock and Roll Stairway To Heaven All My Love Over The Hills and Far Away D'yer Mak'er Ramble On Fool In The Rain Black Dog
  5. There are many Zep songs that took me a few listens to really get "into" them, but there are a few where the minute I heard them, I had to hear more. --Tea For One --When The Levee Breaks --That's The Way --Kashmir --In The Evening --Ten Years Gone
  6. Sitting in my window, staring at the dark sky and stars, drinking a Starbucks and listening to some Floyd.
  7. I would not shoot you. I would however, slap you in the face with a trout. And yes, David is the absolute epitome of "awesome".
  8. The weather! It's supposed to be 60 today and 65 tomorrow! And even better.....near 70 on Monday! Hopefully this means our cold, snowy winter is over because I was getting sick of it.
  9. Sidney Crosby can go choke on a vacuum cleaner hose. I hate that punk. Now, moving on to a very beautiful man who just so happens to be celebrating his 64th birthday today.......
  10. Forgive me if this has been posted already, but I'm not reading through 24 pages to see if someone beat me to it, but here's LZ live at Earl's Court doing Trampled Underfoot.....in HD!
  11. I guess people aren't allowed their opinions. Rolling Stone slated a lot of popular rock bands in the 70s, Zeppelin were no exception. That means exactly......nothing.

  13. She won the bronze medal, which is a fantastic achievement in and of itself but when you factor everything that she's been through emotionally, it's even more impressive. I didn't care much about what the gold and silver medalists were doing, I was hoping that Joannie would come away with something, and she did. I'm sure wherever her mother is, she was very proud and beaming from ear to ear.

  15. I was far more impressed with Joannie Rochette going out there and skating two days after her mother died of a heart attack. I don't know if I could have done that if it was me. The reception she got from the crowd was amazing and she burst into tears coming off the ice. Bless her.
  16. It's funny, if you watch performances from The Who in the 60s, Roger has a very mod look to him. When you see performances from them in the mid-late 70s....he's turned into Robert Plant. He's got the long curly blonde hair, super-tight jeans, little shirts.....now he wants to work with Jimmy Page. The transformation is complete! I kid though, this would be an awesome collaboration, but only if they did new material.
  17. The only people I friend on Facebook are people I've met in real life, either because I grew up with them or went to school (grade/high/college) with them. Because of that.....why lie? These people know me. What sense would it be to put up someone else's picture or lie about your birthday or where you're from....that's so dumb. I love Facebook, primarily because I've "ran" into people I haven't spoken to since kindergarten or the 1st grade. It was great.
  18. I'd love it if Roger did a solo album or something, rather than continuing to beat the same dead horse over and over again. At least when David went on the road and did Floyd songs, he was also doing his entire solo album (that he was touring for) in the first half. Makes it less of a re-tread.
  19. Finding out it's supposed to be 61 and sunny on Sunday. Hallelujah!
  20. No, no snow and thankfully, no chance of it either. I'm sick of this weather anyway. I know it's February and we don't live in the deep South, but this is too bloody cold for me now. Maybe I've been living outside the Midwest too long, but temps that wouldn't faze me 10 years ago, have me wrapped up in a scarf now. It sucks.
  21. No, I don't know him. I only celebrate the birthdays of people whom I've actually met.
