  1. The Rams have the shittiest field in the NFL. The turf at St. Louis looks terrible...almost as bad as the legendary awful turf at the old Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia.
  2. ^^^Music and marijuana/wine works for me. Maybe you should seek professional counsel.
  3. I just told you...the Geiko-Sukui vinyl release "copenhagen warm-ups - the second night". More bottom end than any cd release.
  4. Steelers and Bungles get in pregame scuffle. Tempers high for this one.
  5. A friend is going to the "Star Wars" premiere at the El Capitan...I'm trying to get him to weasel me in. Meanwhile, I am seeing an advance sneak of Tarantino's "Hateful 8" today.
  6. ^^^I was at a Sinatra celebration so I DVRed it for later viewing. The buzz on it is terrific, though.
  7. Arizona - W Buffalo Cleveland St. Louis Brett's Saints Jets Pittsburgh Seattle...10am start time worries me, though...that's always tough for west coast teams travelling east. Jacksonville Kansas City Chicago Carolina Denver...geez, Mile Hile in December...you think it might be cold? Green Bay Houston...what the hell...the only way I can make up ground on the people ahead of me is by picking underdogs nobody else picks. Giants...another dud on Monday Night. Walter, where are Mrs. Walter's picks? Welcome back SANBR! We are still missing Bong-Man and KB, though.
  8. Did nobody watch last night's 30 for 30 special on the Buffalo Bills? Not even Rick?
  9. Curses. Once again, the city of Buffalo proves to be the LA Kings bete noir.
  10. WOW! Talk about synchronicity, kismet, or whatever you want to call it... 1972: The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Los Angeles Lakers, ending the Lakers record-setting streak at 33 games in-a-row. 2015: The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Golden State Warriors, ending the Warriors season-opening winning streak at 24, and preserving the Lakers record. And it shows why no NBA team has ever gone undefeated on a seven-game or longer road trip...it is hard to do. But Golden State gave a helluva run at it...and at the Lakers record.
  11. Yes, it's also the day I finally break out the Christmas albums.
  12. Define "legit" for us unenlightened plebes. Another reason why I continue to prefer getting my bootlegs the old-fashioned way. Considering the years and years of listening pleasure I have derived, it has been money well spent.
  13. Francis Albert Sinatra. Born December 12, 1915. 100 years. Ol' Blue Eyes. Chairman of the Board. It's all Sinatra at work today.
  14. Kobe is no higher than 4th in the ranking of Greatest Lakers. 1. Magic 2. Jerry West 3. Kareem 4. Kobe
  15. I wouldn't say they got away with anything so much as they persevered and gutted it out. "Get away" implies they cheated or didn't deserve to win...I don't think that's the case with Golden State at all. Goden State is the only team that is appointment viewing in the NBA today. I am half-torn in wanting them to continue winning or for the Lakers 33-in-a-row streak to be preserved.
  16. Errr no...I was watching the double-ovetime thriller between Golden State and Boston. The Celtics almost broke the streak.
  17. You are very welcome, ebk. You have been so generous to me and I knew you could give Eric a happier home than I could. Mazel tov!
  18. That's very cool you two got to hang out. Deb, sorry I couldn't call back in time...it got nuts and a sudden windstorm played havoc with my phone reception.
  19. Hahaha yes, the song titles are classic... Side 1 1. The Conversation Changes 2. Commemoration Night 3. White Cat 4. Everybody's Flaw But Their Own Side 2 1. Under The Mountain And Nearby 2. Foggy Hill Jump 3. Since I've Been (Seven Till Eleven) Side 3 1. No Dimes 2. Five Weeks Here 3. Cold Cat Side 4 1. Snow Song 2. Black Winter/White Hilltop 3. Cashmere Sweater Side 5 1. Crushed Overhead 2. Afflicted Once More 3. Ulysses First Fall Side 6 1. So Low 2. In The Morning 3. Staircase To Above 4. Whole Lot Of Infatuation July 24 1979 is in my Baker's Dozen list of top shows that have a combination great performance and great sound. It should be one of the starting points of any Led Zeppelin fan's concert collection.
  20. Oh boy...I sure hope Rick has plenty of booze on hand before he watches ESPN's "Four Falls of Buffalo" Saturday night.
  21. Hearing some great Frank Sinatra stories from Sinatra Archivist Charles Pignone and author of the new book "SINATRA 100".
  22. Everybody picked Arizona, so everybody starts the week off with a win. Well, except for LedZeppfan77, who forgot to pick the Minnesota @ Arizona game...and Anjin-san and Steal Away Now Baby Rose, who have disappeared completely.
  23. I heard the July 24 1979 Copenhagen Warm-ups before I heard anything from the Knebworth Festival, so this was one fan who definitely didn't write off 1979 when it came to Led Zeppelin. It was the summer of 1981 in a record shop in the tiny town of Killeen, Texas where I bought the bootleg "copenhagen warm-ups - the second night" triple-vinyl release by Geiko-Sukui of the July 24th show. Couldn't believe how good the show sounded when I played it that night. Two months later, at the same record shop I found "Last Lead", a double-vinyl set from the Monomatapa label. Nothing on the packaging outside or inside gave any clue that this was August 4 Knebworth. In fact, the only clue it was a post-1977 concert was the inclusion of "Hot Dog" among the song titles listed on the back...all the other songs listed were older songs pre-1977. Being a double-album, it was not a complete concert, but listening to the record you could tell it was Knebworth, due to the sound and size of the audience. It sounded like a fairly decent show to me, too. So, with both those two bootleg records in my collection, I went along on my merry way through the 80s with the belief that 1979 was a good year for the band. It was not until the late 80s, when I first got a hold of the August 11 Knebworth VHS tape and some 1980 Euro tour boots, that I heard the unevenness that had seeped into the band's performances of that period.
