Today! The premiere is happening right now...you should be seeing red carpet coverage on your entertainment news channels shortly. I know someone going to the premiere but he couldn't weasel me in, unfortunately. That's okay...I got into the "Revenant", "The Danish Girl", "Legend", and "The Hateful 8" screenings so I can't complain. If you mean when does "Star Wars" open to the general public in the U.S., that date is December 18, with midnight screenings on Dec. 17 in the big cities.

It's been crazy all day...phone ringing off the hook with Star Wars premiere questions. They've had Hollywood Blvd. blocked for days getting the red carpet and tents set up...security is tighter than the Academy Awards. I don't even bother walking anywhere near the Chinese Theatre. Poor punters camping out getting drenched in the rain yesterday. Red Carpet arrivals should be commencing now. 8pm PST is showtime.

Maybe this will help your interest, pc...if Miami wins then you finish tied for first this week. If the Giants win I finish first outright.

An entire NFL weekend without Rick ranting about the Bills and the referees? What in tarnation is going on around here? Anjin-san hasn't been seen since December 5....his last post a cryptic "Mirror?". I am beginning to fear for their health. We all know Rick has major back pain and has to take serious meds to cope. I wonder if his back has flared up again and put him in the hospital? At least he got his picks in. KB on the other hand, has completely vanished. I couldn't even reach him by PM...my PM hasn't even been read by him yet. I don't think this is a DAS situation, where DAS let his bitterness over politics and gays cloud his participation on the forum. No, I am concerned KB might have succumbed to some health issue, much like Rick. Paul, jabe, or Walter...you are probably closer and more in contact with Rick and KB than I am, so any help you can provide regarding their status would be welcome.

Just getting out of "The Hateful 8" screening. Reswati, it was bloody great! Accent on the BLOODY! A cackling Jennifer Jason Leigh, face full of blood, is a sight I won't forget. And shot gorgeously on 70mm film, not digital. We saw the complete Road Show version, with an overture and intermission, it was slightly over 3 hours. Some theatres will get the 70mm Road Show version, the mall theatres will get a shorter version. If you like Tarantino you'll like "The Hateful 8". If you don't like Tarantino then this probably won't change your mind.
