  1. Me! If only I had followed my hunch on the other games (Buffalo, Miami, Minnesota, Detroit), I would have made a bigger move up the standings. If, if, if...
  2. Ta-Da! The 2015 NFL regular season draws to a close and we have a winner and it is no surprise, as it is the man who has led most of the way and won the most weeks of the season...apantherfrommd! Congratulations Andy! Since Andy and jb126 had the exact same picks, there was no chance for a dramatic finish. The only notable change was ebk moving herself up into a tie for 3rd with Bong-Man. As the Top 3 finishers, you will receive a prize. Please PM me your mailing addresses Andy and Bong_man. As for the final 'Winner of the Week', it was zepscoda coming in at 12-4 for his second win of the season. Congrats zepscoda! Another tidbit...everyone who finished out the season finished with a winning rate above 50%. Good show. The best record of the season was posted by both in_the_evening and Reggie29 in Week 15 when they finished 14-2. The worst record of the season was posted by yours truly in Week 10 at a lowly 2-12. Here are the final numbers... Much obliged for your participation. I realize it can be tedious and bothersome to have to remember to get your picks in by a certain time, especially around the holidays when life tends to get busy.
  3. Seahawks putting an ass-whuppin' on Arizona, who has the look of a one-and-done team in the playoffs. Where has Lockett been all season? He has exploded as a punt-returner today. If I am Bruce Arians I sit Palmer in the 2nd half. You can't risk an injury.
  4. Run to the hills, CP! El Niño is supposed to finally make its presence felt, according to the weatherman. Rain is forecast for three of the next four days in Los Angeles. Crossing fingers that it is true. By jove, we need the rain.
  5. Friggin' NFL and the TV networks up to their shenanigans again. For some reason, the AFC matchup between the Raiders and Chiefs is on the NFC network Fox, while the AFC channel CBS has the game between NFC teams Rams and 49ers. WTF?!?
  6. ^^^Thank you kindly Chuck, jabe, Rick et al. That's always been the intention...to provide a pressure-valve release from the day-to-day drama and tension. And without the stress of having real money on the line.
  7. Paul and Rick, you guys must be ecstatic. Thanks to both of YOUR teams winning, the Jets are OUT and the Steelers are IN...the ONE team that New England didn't want in the playoffs. It's always a good feeling when your team wins its last game and hurts your chief nemesis' playoff chances in the process.
  8. Dude, those are last week's picks. Go to the previous page and look at Week 17 schedule I posted.
  9. I will...unless Paul beats me to it. Hard to believe the season is at the end already. Shame we lost Anjin-san along the way. People that need to get their picks in: apantherfrommd, LedZeppfan77, Mrs. Walter, jabe, Steal Away Now Baby Rose. Thank you, Bong-Man. Jets New England Chicago Brett's Saints Cincinnati Pittsburgh Houston Indianapolis Giants Washington Oakland Carolina San Francisco Denver Seattle Green Bay
  10. Check Kurt out in "Bone Tomahawk"...that performance is just as good.
  11. Taking my nephew for his second helping of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"...this time at the El Capitan where they have a light-saber light show before the movie and cool costume and prop displays. And Lego sculptures.
  12. Let the drinking commence!
  13. Whoopie Cat, I don't know if you still visit the Forum but I wish you a very happy birthday! You just snuck in before the end of the year, eh? Haha...your poor mum spending New Year's Eve in a hospital giving birth. Probably didn't even get any champagne. Enjoy your double-whammy of a day....Birthday and New Year's Eve! You're looking great for 101. Cheers!
  14. Samuel Jackson has a scene in The Hateful Eight that will knock your socks off. In a career where he has had many notable monologues and soliloquys, this one might take the cake for sheer audacity. The reactions of some people are fun to watch. Hollywood Arclight has a nice Hateful Eight costume display in the courtyard. Knocked off two more films from my holiday list..."Anomalisa" and "Creed". "Anomalisa" is another quirky gem from the mind of Charlie Kaufman....this one being in stop-motion animation. It's rated R...yep, there's stop-motion animation nudity and sex, haha! The ratings board people crack me up. David Thewlis and Jennifer Jason Leigh voice the two main characters and they are terrific. Also terrific is Tom Noonen, who voices ALL the other characters. Yes, you read right...every other character in the film is handled by Tom Noonen, even the women. When you see the film you will understand why. Tom is marvelous and part of the fun of the film is picking out certain lines that Tom says in the background of the bar scene or in the airplane. "Creed" waa okay. Better than just about every Rocky except the first two. It makes a good "guys night out" type of flick.
  15. Thanks Jules! A very happy New Year to you, Kiwi, Reggie, Whoopie, and the other early birds Down Under! May everyone on the Forum ring in the New Year however they see fit, dans or sans champagne. May the New Year be a peaceful and prosperous one for you all in 2016.
  16. As soon as I saw the "Daddy's Home" poster I thought "coke movie" and knew I wasn't going to waste my time and money on it. Such a tired theme and story. Recently went for second helpings of "The Big Short", "The H8teful Eight", and "Carol". Hot diggity dog...all three are a good time at the movies.
  17. Tickets for Coachella have been outrageous for a few years now. For the record, even Rolling Stones tix used to be reasonable once upon a time. 1989 Los Angeles Coliseum: Rolling Stones, Guns 'n' Roses, Living Colour...$35 a ticket. Pink Floyd and the Eagles changed all that with their 1994 tours. Next thing you knew, bands were charging $100, $200 and up for tickets.
  18. Guns n Roses headlining Coachella 2016...asking for $3 million per gig...tix likely being $250-300...NO Izzy or Steven. Thanks but NO THANKS. Axl started sounding like shit on the Use Your Illusion tour and without Izzy and Adler, the band loses its insouciant swagger. Glad I saw 'em when I did and, no doubt, they were great from 1986-90, but I have no interest in this go 'round.
  19. Always in the discussion of Greatest Live Album...Raise a glass to Lemmy.
  20. 20-17. Looks like you made it by the seat of your pants.
