  1. Yes, at the bottom of the back cover is printed Blimp Records 1973© blah blah blah etc. Germany. But if it is a bootleg, it is far superior in both sound and packaging to any vinyl bootleg I have ever come across. The vinyl is clean and the labels printed and centered perfectly. The disc comes in a pristine jacket sleeve. The album cover itself looks very professionally done, with the actual photos used on the official BBC Sessions. This isn't some TMOQ white cardboard with paper insert. What really stands out, however, is the sound...it sounds better than the official BBC Sessions cd box that I have. "Dazed and Confused" is particularly phenomenal. Whoever put this out put a lot more care and thought into it than is usual for a bootleg.
  2. Not all of the Record Store Day exclusive releases sold out last Saturday, and yesterday I got the Mystery Single alluded to above, which is a split 7" on coloured vinyl of Love / Rush "7 and 7 Is". Also got this weird Led Zeppelin BBC Sessions on purplish-grey splatter vinyl. It is only a single record containing some of the better 1969 performances.
  3. Reunited with a lost friend. While the TMOQ "Bonzo's Birthday Party" was the first and most commonly known vinyl release of the May 31, 1973 LA Forum audience tape, my personal favourite was the Titanic Records version released around 1980 or so. An English release, I picked one up in 1981 at a record store across from Ft. Hood in Killeen, TX. I love the cover art more than the William Stout art used on TMoQ's. In fact, several of the Titanic Records boots I acquired in the 80s had some great cover art. I also get a kick out of the Kimber record label on the discs. There is a member here called Kimbersays and I always think of this bootleg when I see that member's name. Long story short, my Titanic Records "Bonzo's Birthday Party" was among those lost or stolen over the years. Hence my joy upon coming across a very nice and clean copy at a local record store. It's much easier to find the TMOQ version than the Titanic Records one, so I am doubly happy.
  4. Sorry it didn't go as expected, E.

clw, as Led Dirigible and Pagefan55 noted, if you bought the tickets on Paul's site, you should be golden. Did you print out your tickets or are you picking them up at Will Call?
  6. Shocking that nobody has mentioned this...especially you, Paul, being the Dolphin fan you are and how you're usually first with the latest news. A moment of silence, please, for one of the Golden Greats. For Earl Morrall has gone on to that big gridiron in the sky, having passed away earlier today. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2014/04/26/sports/football/earl-morrall-backup-quarterback-in-dolphins-perfect-season-dies-at-79.html?_r=0&referrer= A true throwback player...at a time in the late-60s and 70s when most players were growing their hair long and cultivating outlandish mustaches and beards, Earl Morrall still rocked a clean-cut crew cut. When I think of players with incredible longevity who played far beyond what most people considered conceivable for football players, Earl Morrall is second only to George Blanda in my memory. And while he spent many years with the Detroit Lions and took the Baltimore Colts to two Super Bowls, winning one (against Dallas in 1971) and crushingly losing another (the monumental upset loss to the upstart NY Jets in 1969), to me Earl Morrall will always be a Miami Dolphin...#15. That is my most vivid memory of Earl Morrall...backing up Bob Griese on those great Dolphin teams from 1972 to 1977. As amazing an achievement the Dolphins perfect season of 1972 was, it was even more amazing considering the Dolphins lost their starting QB in the fifth game of the season against San Diego. Imagine if New England had lost Tom Brady in game 5 of their undefeated season? When Bob Griese went down, in came Earl Morrall to lead the Dolphins to victory #5. He would start and win the next 9 games as the Dolphins would finish the regular season 14-0. Earl Morrall also was the QB in the Dolphins first playoff game, beating Cleveland. It was only when he faltered against Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship Game the next week that Coach Shula finally brought back Bob Griese, with Griese leading them to the Super Bowl by beating the Steelers. Much conjecture followed about who Shula would start for the Super Bowl, but as much as Shula loved Morrall, it seemed obvious that it would be Griese who got the start. You had to feel for Morrall though, as much as he helped the Dolphins to their perfect season. But, like a TRUE PROFESSIONAL, he never complained about not getting the Super Bowl start. Rick, as a Bills fan, I'm sure you're aware that Morrall oversaw the development of a young Jim Kelly while he was Quarterback Coach at University of Miami. A pro's pro and a class act. Rest in peace #15, Earl Morrall.
  7. Well done, SZ! Remind me never to piss you off...no matter what you say, I agree. Don't want to end up looking like a pincushion. 'Atta girl! And hosannas to the great mom who raised her!
  8. Don't apologize WC...it wasn't a mistake at all. Own your choices...own your happiness. There is no shame in liking KC & the Sunshine Band. Time has proven their status as one of the few relics of the Disco Age worth a damn. Revel in your brilliance in seeing them the other night. Well played, sir.
  9. You brought good luck to the Nats the other night, so maybe you'll be a good luck charm for The Wiz tonight! Enjoy yourselves at the game, E.
  10. Rick Olé, not only did the Angels bullpen blow the game but now we won't have Weaver available for the Yankee series. I'm happy for ebk, though...she got to see the Nats win in person, it was an exciting game, and the Angels took 2 of 3. It's a win-win for everyone. Now SWEEP THE BLOODY YANKS!!!

Oy vey. Maybe it's a good thing you don't go to a lot of concerts. If you cannot tell the difference between the official ticket selling site and the ticket hawks, then the scalpers would be making a fortune off you. It is very simple, clw...go to PAUL MCCARTNEY'S official website...that's why they have them, so fans know where to go for the real information. Bingo! Tour date info, etc. http://www.paulmccartney.com/live/27468-out-there Now, if you still need guidance, click on the presale information for your show...I'm assuming Fargo, ND is the date you're interested in...and there you are, ticket prices and availability and all. http://www.crowdsurge.com/paulmccartney/?event=40721 Looks like the American Express presale was today, with the general public on sale Monday April 28 at 10:00am. Tickets seem to range from $40 to $265 depending on ticket service fees.
  12. Visual proof the Daily Mail doesn't know what they're talking about. The Dark Lord is correct...the Classic Records Led Zeppelin vinyl are through the roof...and I would be willing to wager that the BBC Sessions Box Set on vinyl is rarer and more expensive than TSRTS.
  13. Ok Rick, the Angels won the first two games against the Nationals, which means they should lose today, according to your theory about sweeps. But you've also stated that you'll always put money on the Angels when Weaver pitches, and hellooo, who is on the mound tonight? Mr. Weaver! So which of your trueisms are you betting on tonight? Against the sweep or with Weaver?
  14. Love seeing Giancarlo Esposito in just about anything, so his role as "Gus" in Breaking Bad was one of the things I liked most about the show. Man, are you in for a treat in season 4 redrum.
  15. The Wiz are jizzing on the Bulls so far.
  16. Sharks @ Kings beginning. Kings must win this game, plain and simple.
  17. Atlanta still has home court advantage thanks to their game one upset. Can Indiana get one back in Atlanta? Now it's the Wiz vs. Bulls.
  18. Indiana seems to have woken up...for now.
  19. He likes all the teams this Raider fan cannot stand...the Giants, the A's, the 49ers...so fuck him. Hahaha, just kidding. Happy belated Birthday redrum! Hope you had a murderous day and murdered some beers in celebration.
  20. The Foreigner Belt episode is an all-time classic!!! Rubbernecking between Angels@Nats and Hawks@Pacers...keeping tabs on Yanks@Red Sawx too.
  21. ^^^ The ramifications will be that all the shrinks in Indiana will be on-call 24/7. Considering where the Pacers were only a month or so ago, considered a dangerous challenger to the Heat, if they lose to Atlanta, this will go down as one of the greatest meltdowns in sports history.
  22. Pujols just hit 500! Sorry ebk.
  23. ^^^ That's what beer is for.
  24. One word: "Waterworld". Here's a couple more..."The Postman". Dreadful movies. I really don't like what the Raidets did with Pryor. Only a 7th round pick for him? Pryor has some talent and he could be great for Seattle. I cannot think of many 7th rounders that stick in the NFL, so we basically traded away Pryor for nothing in return.
