  1. Thanks Sam. With some of the veiled comments about Page I can see why it was not released. I had searched the forum for this interview but could not find it using Search.
  2. I had not heard this before. Wonderful interview the day after the second Knebworth gig. Very good, even though JJ Jackson talks way too much at times. Plant and Jones in fine form here. Jackson asks Jones about a solo album. Jones says well I would need a drummer and there is only one drummer I can play with. "The Jones Bonham Duo". They talk about material left off the new album and they discuss the tracks on the album. When they talk about Hot Dog and the resurgence of rockabilly in America, Plant praises Charlie Rich and Eddie Cochran, then says with rockabilly coming back he may have 10 years added to his career from that point.
  3. The JRK remasters of these soundboards are superb. Led Zeppelin Rarities also did a wonderful job with 9/28. Winston's 9/29 is fantastic. You can't go wrong with any of these. JRK did great work on 1/22/73 Southampton and Montreux 1970 as well.
  4. Wonderful intro of Bonham. Whole Lotta Love jam up to and during the Theremin part is so FUNKY. Love it.
  5. They launch into Celebration Day. Guy in audience: "What album is this from?" Oh if only Celebration Day had been multitracked in 1972.
  6. This is such an amazing performance for the band. Plant is magnificent.
  7. That is the comment of the day right there.
  8. Indeed. He is either lazy or intellectually dishonest, likely both. His crack about the chorus is also telling in the same regard. He is not hearing all the words, and he is not hearing the chorus in the context of the other words. Just like reviewers did back on Celebration Day - they focused on the chorus and called it insipid. If they had listened to the rest of the words they would have a better context for the chorus. Similar thing was done by reviewers of For Your Life - they said the song was all about sex because Plant talked about his lemon. They could not or would not understand the lyric at all. Same thing happened with this joker and For Your Life. For Your Life is one of the best anti drug songs ever written. I would put these three songs among Plant's best lyrics. Seinfeld had a name for people like the guy who wrote this list: Hipster Doofus.
  9. I had not heard this one before. Thanks for posting. Wonderful interview with Page in fine form. I like how he describes his work in the Yardbirds as one basis for Zeppelin. He is so passionate, and on point in this interview.
  10. Saw this wonderful documentary again recently. Very well done. Check out the Purdie Shuffle part at 39:20 to 41:57.
  11. Eno put out this album and its follow up Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) less than one year apart. Pretty amazing.
