  1. Sometimes when I listen to this I find myself wondering how can it be this good? Absolute perfection from start to finish. I used to think they should have stretched it out further in the studio and given Ritchie another go, but I have come to the conclusion it is perfect the way it is.
  2. Just watched the AXS-TV Classic Albums episode on Machine Head again. Fantastic except they leave out my favorite track on the album - Lazy. If you have not seen it, seek it out. Great bit when Ritchie says they basically decided they wanted to play heavy rock after they heard Zeppelin. The band members speak proudly and with interesting insights about the tracks and the times. One of the best album documentaries I have seen.
  3. Sure this show had its ups and downs but this remaster is amazing. So much better than any other version I have heard.
  4. A forgotten movie and soundtrack from 1977.
  5. Hats off to Led Zeppelin Boots !! Nice compilation of Texas 75, download link included, good for one week.
  6. Two of the most Zeppelin of the post Zeppelin tracks to my ears, probably because each features two of them.
  7. Great sound, great remaster, and a somewhat unusual outro solo on Celebration Day. Three out of three ain't bad. Too bad its not the whole show, but what the heck.
  8. Indeed. I love that Plantation. As an added bonus, Kezar may be Bonham's greatest ever count in to The Ocean. "A one, a two, a three, a four" in a jolly tone.
  9. Kezar June 2 is another good choice for 1973 soundboard versions. Look for the DADGAD remaster.
  10. I don't think I saw Roger Waters doing "Careful with that Axe, Eugene" in this. I would think that one should make the list. Go to 3:07
  11. I am so glad you bumped this thread so I could see and hear this. Gives me a new appreciation of how excellent that opening is. Could be the best intro to any Zeppelin track. Amazing. Pure Page genius.
  12. I always liked Hats Off as a weird, off-beat, unexpected ending to such an eclectic album. It is raw and has a mysterious "old" sound. It is so different because it is just Plant and Page, and both of them are tearing it up. So anti-commercial. To me it is the perfect send off to this record. It is so Zeppelin that they took an excellent, very commercial song like Hey Hey, left it off the album, and put it out only as b-side.
