  1. I remember reading a quote from Robert about the studio version of "Kashmir" that he recorded it in sections and never felt he gave a good performance on the studio version. In fact he said he felt he sang it better live every time compared to the studio version. I always guage his singing of "Kashmir" live by the long wail in the middle section of the song - that's what makes it, for me, on the vocal end. Jimmy, JPJ and Jason sound wonderful together on this 02 version and Robert sounded like the Golden God of the 70's!
  2. Well, here we go again! Hurricane Sandy is currently southeast of Florida, a category 2 storm with winds of 105 mph. We are feeling some effects in Central Florida, they are calling for 12 foot waves on the Atlantic coast - which is a huge concern for those beaches. But the biggest concern is for our Zep brothers and sisters in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. The current track that is being presented is for the storm to make landfall in northern New Jersey as a Cat. 1 hurricane on Monday/Tuesday. Plus there is another system that could turn this to a snow maker?!? "Frankenstorm" is a name being used to describe this unusual storm. Be safe and be prepared everyone!

  4. Can't wait to hear it! The movie's sound was so clear and I think Robert saved his voice a bit all night just for that song. He really let it wail for that one!
  5. Always have loved this song! When Page/Plant opened with it, I was blown away.... The studio track is fantastic, as was said earlier - it's what Bonzo doesn't do that makes the beat so awesome, plus adding a little variation from time to time. I always loved the way Jimmy would strum the guitar and turn up the volume to give that emphasis to the riff, especially the final time he does it during the song. The whole jam just goes up a notch at that point!!! Strider, you're right, Plant's wail at the end is just guttural....
  6. Again, defense spending has gone up every year of the current administration. Your second sentence has no merit or basis. Your third sentence is completely opinion and not even quantifiable. As for the rest of what you said, all I can say is Bush's administration had been in office for almost a full year when 9/11 happened, where else would it fall? The holocaust on FDR? Don't even know where you are coming from on that one.... I have backed out of the political discussions on this site and can't believe I got sucked in again, but statements like these cannot go on unchallenged, otherwise they are believed to be the truth. Back to the young teen's report card....
  7. The defense budget has increased every year over the past 4 years, so choking the defense budget is not true. Bush, by attacking Iraq, caused thousands more people to sympathize with people fighting against coalition forces and therefore advanced the idea that Americans in that region were infidels - so another untrue claim. Oh yeah, 9/11 happened on GW's watch, so I guess he should get an "A" for that....
  8. Xavier Rudd - tonight @ The Beachum in Downtown Orlando If you are interesting in hearing a song by him, here is GBA - he is an amazing musician from Oz.....
  9. I would've asked why didn't they play anything off ITTOD and leave it as the only studio album not to have been represented in the set list?
  10. Those are some great photos everyone! Thanks for sharing!!
  11. How about taking the season from 162 to about 140. Too long for sure! It'll never happen though... Rick, I live in Orlando. Go down there all the time with opposing teams swag. Tampa fans are not very intense, certainly not like Philly - but who is! I agree about the Munson comment! One of my all-time favorite Yankees, have a couple of jersey's that commemorate him.
  12. Glad to hear the clubs are out! Your weather post last week seemed bleak...I guess that comes with the territory over there. Glad you had a nice day!
  13. FINALLY opened the windows this morning, first time since April/May! Low around 60 tonight!!!
  14. Yes, plus his comment about coming to see the hammer of the gods.
  15. I understand. People love to hate them more than some love to root for them! That would be fun! I took my son to a Yanks/O's preseason game there for his first ever game. Had baseline seats on the Yanks side and Granderson personally signed a ball to him!
  16. On October 19, 2012 you are probably right. I thought the whole time the Tigers were catching the shite sox, they would be trouble in the playoffs. Christ, they were the odds on favorite before the season started. They underachieved most of the season and have gotten hot at the right time. Kinda like the NY (football) Giants last season. At the end of the day, I'll take the Yankee championships, amazing finishes and rich history over winning/making the World Series one season, when they overachieved to get to the ALCS and had the best league record. I'll be glad to see A-Roid go ASAP! He's a disgrace to the pinstripes!
  17. Happy Birthday, brother 'puffer! Hope you have a high time with wifey and Pricilla!
